Negotiated Study Feedback
Its been three weeks since submission and Yesterday I was given feedback on the work I submitted for Negotiated Study. Im pleased with my mark of a First and the feedback given to me which has now shown me the path to what I need and and to do over the module that will prepare me for the next steps in my career.
My aim now is to refine my area of practice to focus on advertising and craft. I am also in the process of looking at internships, graduate jobs and overall working hard to network.
Heres to a successful Final Major Study and last remaining months at university.

Negotiated Study
Presentation
Yesterday I presented all my work that I complete for Negotiated Study to my tutors, Kingsley and Chris. There was a lot to get through so condemning everything down into a small presentation was a task in itself.
106 Slides later a 10 minute presentation turned into 1 hour. I actually really enjoyed the presentation, showing my work and how I have developed as a young creative. The feedback I got was really nice and both tutors were very supportive of what I produced.
So thats Negotiated study over and done with. I am a little sad to let it go as it truly challenged me and I grew to love the projects I worked on. I receive my results in early February so hopefully all the hard work has paid off.

MoonPig
Today I was told that I am one of the 5 winning entries for the annual MoonPig student competition. This is such good news and it is nice to see that experts from the industry appreciated my work.
With this I have won an expenses paid weeks placement at MoonPig in London over the summer for which I am very much looking forward to! This is very different from the line of work I would normally lean towards but its all about gaining experience!

Shoot Experience
My tutor kindly invited me to help and assist on a small video he was shooting. Acting as the ‘runner’ I was able to help out and see first hand what goes on behind the scenes. For a short film it took approximately 6/7 hours to shoot, with illustrator Jess drawing live and being filmed doing so by past a past BCU student who had been asked to work on the brief.
It was really interesting speaking to them both about their line of work and how they have gotten on with their creative pathways after leaving university. Jess told me about the initial struggles of freelancing to begin with but is now, with many hours of dedication making it work - she is one very talented individual whose style is unique.

Advertise Time.
Now this one got me really stumped and wondering why on earth I thought this would be a good idea. This obviously took me longer than 1 minute to come up with some form of decent response.
I thought up ideas about focusing on time management and departures - with a focus on punctuality.
The above outcome (again using an image from the same source as my previous outcomes) is my response. The airport environment works o a tight ship and not many people realise the work that goes on behind the scenes as we sip that coffee and browse the duty free.

Advertise Wheels.
Now wheels are probably not the first thing to come to mind when you think of the aviation industry but after watching a few histogram videos of aircraft landing with a few unclose of the undercarriage making contact with the runway (yes Im sad like that) - it got me wondering, they must be some bloody tough wheels to withstand the weight of that plane!
So wheels. in one minute I thought of all the obvious lines such as touch down, keeping you on the roll etc. I struggled with this one Im going to be truthful, so it took me nearly an hour to think of at least a line.
The above is what I settled on. its a term used by pilots upon take off. Airlines spend most of their tie in the air so their weight is pretty much no existent but once there on the ground its up to the wheels to move them around and withstand the weight pressures.
The image is sourced from an Instagram account I follow who does stunning minimal aviation photography - Laird Kay.
With each of my One Minute Brief exercises I have created a digital mock up to the best I could, trying to make it branded and as real as possible.

Above is my response to the one minute brief. I managed to source the above image that had the perfect visual aesthetic I was going for. The then edited the size and cropped out elements of the background to make it less cluttered.
I then composed the piece applying the streamline and brand logo central. The overall approach has a very late 70′s early 80′s appeal. Luv it.
