i know you don't talk about foahs anymore and maybe i'm paranoid af but the way foahs are acting recently really makes me concerned. not just for other fellow "noah solos" (there is genuinely no need to come up with this term and no matter how much they try to reason it to others or to themselves, the intention is just pretty clear) but also for noah. the way there is drama just because arthur picked him up in milan, i can't imagine what will actually happen when the narrative they created cannot be sustained anymore.
it’s a common phenomenon in modern-day fandoms. this was an interesting conversation about this with actress emma myers from wednesday talking about rpf. she felt for some time uncomfortable and like she couldn’t interact with her friend anymore like a normal person, and how it reached a point where people would harass her irl friends or partners bc they were disrupting the fantasies created by shippers. it’s sad to see it happening here too, and it’s very similar from the foah situation because this is all left over energy from a tv ship that people got invested in as well.
i feel really bad that it’s reaching this point. i honestly don’t talk about foah anymore because i’ve said like one hundred times that foah isn’t a real thing and i don’t want to get harassed either so i’m not wasting my time trying to reach people that don’t want to believe me anyway.
i’m very honest with everybody here unlike some people i know that are misleading others purposely and it’s funny how earlier this year, i was jokingly saying that i’m aware where noah is like 75% of the time and his circle so foah made no sense to me and now that they are also tracking his whereabouts, they can see what i meant that their paths don’t cross that much outside of the show. obviously i believe finn and noah will be friends forever and i understand the appeal but we’re starting to cross lines. i think it’s okay to ship them in a self aware way, with this i mean knowing the reality of the situation and that you have to treat them like human beings, not just characters in your made up world but it’s reaching to a point where noah gets insulted for having friends and people are creating the most bizarre scenarios in their heads, and not only that but his fans get harassed for not blindly believing a relationship that isn’t confirmed. there shouldn’t be shipping wars in this fandom, he’s a real person and there’s no reason for this ‘solo’ terminology to even exist when noah is an individual artist and the show is over.
at the end of the day, i’ve seen it happening in many fandoms and i think that with time, the more reasonable people will get tired of not getting anything and will move on. the ringleaders will also disappear to do the same thing in other fandoms like you can see the larries and kit/joe shippers moving into hudcon from HR. i mean that literally happened in this fandom that the byler ringleaders magically got foah tea as soon as the clock struck midnight when they found out byler didn’t happen which to me is very funny, just imagine falling for the same trick twice with their so called sources.
we just need to support noah and be patient but i totally understand your concerns.
