Obviously this isn't about the things that happened when we were children. It's about the way we process information after having been neglected and abused as children from dysfunctional families or after simply making a mistake about who we let into our lives. It’s so sad to see as a therapist, People that are capable of trusting others, beat themselves up for using what is in all actuality a virtue. Trust is a gift we give and we shouldn’t ever beat ourselves up for being generous.
