#ncis 16x23

For anyone wondering, a kind soul in the youtube comment section translated the hebrew parts in Ziva’s journals from the episode “she” (16x13).

This part gets me:

“Secrets... we all have them, and we’re good at hiding them underneath many layers. Abba told me once that it’s impossible to really know someone, to know all their secrets. It may be the truest thing he ever told me.”

This was a really good character episode for Gibbs. I really love that Gibbs has built himself a support group outside of work and Dr. Grace Confalone is someone he can call in a crisis. 

I was actually really surprised that Gibbs had a big reaction to the Team learning his secret (also, did he forget Abby knew? Or is it because Abby found out for herself?). 

I also love Grace calling BS on Gibbs’ rule about not taking cases personally because he always took cases personally. Everyone on the team does but it’s a lie Gibbs told himself and I love Grace rightly zeroing in that it might be the foundation he built around himself. 

I love the slow burn of Jack and Gibbs and I am so happy they’re doing this right. I love they have similar issues but not the same person, a thing the show kept doing with Gibbs’ love interests. 

Gibbs turning to Grace and not Jack is also telling because he doesn’t want Jack to carry his psychological burdens. 

(I actually am not sure the ethics of being friends with their therapist but this is TV land so, HANDWAVE as long as they’re not doctor-patient and they’re not romantically involved, I’m better with it). 

Honestly, I am with Torres on this, I mean based on the rules established in-universe Not Talking About It is the logical step with Gibbs, what I’m surprised about is how willing Gibbs was to do so with his team. 

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT and it only took 16 years! Hee.

I do love Grace questioning Gibbs what he thinks he wants his endgame to be, it’s a valid question. Gibbs admitted working in NCIS gives him structure and without it, he’d be very lost. Dying for the job feels like something Gibbs would want.
