A necklace was made for Finrod Felagund, king of Nargothrond. This epic device made all of its owners especially beautiful. But Finrod was beautiful by his own.

Aeglos: Aeglos was in west Beleriand, where Finrod was overlord. They are described as tall thorny plants similar to Tornblad, with sweet smelling white flowers growing on moorland.

okay so this is a day late but uh. happy new year! featuring finrod and snakeglaumir :)
TIL that in Tolkien's later draft it's Celegorm and Curufin who kill the Dwarves for the Nauglamir and they do it because they want the Silmaril (which is not there bc Melian took it). Not Beren out of revenge which I've always had issues with. This makes so much sense!
Also the Dwarves kill Thingol when they invade Doriath not when they first argue? OK I guess...
Also, the Second Kinslaying is in the spring, which makes logistical sense. Could be early spring if we still want Elured and Elurin to freeze.
Generally, I like this version of it.
Elu Thingol has to be one of the funniest characters in the Silmarillion. Firstborn of his entire species, basically an immortal demigod on earth, ultimately beaten to death for refusing to pay his contractors. Contractors who must've been, generously, like half his height.
