I’ve been LOOKING for this tweet dayss!
🤦🏽♀️THIS ends me addressing any more asks and DMs both private or anon about my feelings on Idols/specifically BTS AKA BigHit (since they have control over the boys public narrative)when it comes to BLM. They will all be deleted, as this tweet sums up my feelings from jump! I’m over discussing it, if you can’t wrap your head around it then that’s on you!
It took the company 10 days bc it came down to MORALS OR business ethics that’s all it was. Be naive if you want to but Bighit is a business first, one that makes the majority of there money in Asia regardless of western impact!
So, as a black fan regardless of business, a company that’s profited so much off black culture... like a lot of Kpop idols have in general...that is why I feel how I feel about Bighit. That statement at that point(after days of spam) was made out of peer pressure...not blaming the boys but Mr. PD....Nah
The Idols/K-Rappers who spoke up days after it happened also faced the same delima. Even if some are American born the bulk of there money steams from Korea! Regardless ok glad to know they helped however I never doubted if they did... I just knew they Didint want to adress it publicly for more than just humble reasons!
We know the racial issues within the Kpop fandom, so I also think that plays a part in fan’s wanting to hear there faves adress it head on. Which explains why some fans are still hurt that it took a minute! A donation is beautiful but so is not being afraid to take a public stance against a major issue!
On that note, please continue doing what you can to supprt the cause and stay safe! We don’t want silence want you voices heard it’s not over yet! But I pray we’re finally getting somewhere FOREAL this time! 🙏🏽 If you have thoughts about the movement in general my ask is always open but we’re BTS and Kpop is concerned to it I’m done addressing it!
Love you my babies but this is a dead subject for me at this point....
