another one of the nine muses, urania (or ‘heavenly one’) became the muse and goddess of astronomy during the classical era. she was painted gesturing to a celestial globe with a rod.

Aphrodite

terpsichore was another one of the nine muses. with her name meaning ‘delighting in dance,’ she soon became the muse of choral song and dancing. she is often depicted with a lyre and plectrum.

traditionally, clio was one of the nine muses. she later became a part of the literary and artistic spheres thus becoming the muse of history. often seen with an open scroll beside a pile of books.

the horae: these goddesses presided over the seasons: spring, summer, and winter. their graceful dances were the cause for seasons changing. most commonly seen in triads and are said to guard the gates to heaven.
