In Greek mythology, Clio, Euterpe, and Thalia are three of the nine muses, who are characters that inspire the arts and sciences: Clio The muse of history and creativity. She is often depicted holding a scroll or book and crowned with laurels. Euterpe The muse of music and lyric poetry. She is often depicted playing the flute. Thalia The muse of comedy and pastoral poetry. She is often depicted wearing a mocking expression and carrying a theatrical mask of comedy.
