i'm not gonna extrapolate, but outer wilds arrived in my life during a really tough time. it was hard to learn how to be myself again after having to say goodbye to the last things that still made a long-gone past feel alive. how special it is that a story about mourning what could have been, what's left behind, and letting go would find its way to me at that exact moment. it somehow both coddles me and pushes me forward. there will come a time when its purpose will be served and i'll have learned to live in this new life without it as a crutch. don't know when that'll be, but i will forever be grateful to it for making me feel, somehow, that the order of things can be kind. it's my favorite game of all time, an experience unlike any other, and an ode to leaving a legacy for the future.
