Mr. Crocket (2024) + Horror movie homages
Just realized NovaFrost's whole story reminds me of the movie Mr. Crocket
A friend like you is a friend like me! A friend like us is a friend like we!
Whenever you’re in trouble, you can count on me! I’ll be there to protect you in a heartbeat!!
So, Mr. Crocket…… /pos
I drew this while in the waiting room for my therapy, tbh I’m pretty proud of it ^^!
I also have this one-
Honestly just got done watching Monkey’s Magic Merry Go Round. It was pretty good. It’s a good sister movie to “Mr. crocket” more on the lower budget as you see 4 human faces in the entire film.
Like Mr. Crocket it gives you that “film version of Analogue Horror” but this one is more of a psychological story.
And I think one of my favorite elements is when a story does the whole “your child but darker” is that at some point it drops the guise of the “childhood” and goes into its own thing, but for Monkey it starts as a “Mr. Rodgers” story and ends as a “Mr. Rodgers” despite the fire. It was a fun story of accepting the things that are out of your control. And not to let guilt consumed

The lack of Mr. Crocket content on this site is unbelievable.
The movie may not be perfect, but Elvis Nolasco KILLED it as Mr. Crocket and the fact no one has made .gifs of him is a huge disappointment to me.
Good timezone people I just wanna say i got recommended a trailer for this movie called Mr. Crocket and
CLOCK CLOCK CLOCK CLOCK CLOCK 🫵🫵🫵
Non-Spoilers of Mr. Crocket (2024, horror)
Over the weekend I had the pleasure of watching this "What If Mr. Rogers was a villain that hosted a children's program" with the fam.
Let me tell you, it was absolutely delightful. The gore effects were quite reminiscent of the 90s horror, fitting as the movie takes place in that decade. At first, like an innocent child looking for an escape from their sad reality, the viewer is sympathetic to Mr. Crocket. He's just an adult that wants to help and protect the children from their neglectful parents. Right?
But as the movie progresses, the viewer following a struggling single mother and son in the aftermath of a tragic death, we soon learn that we were wrong to trust Mr. Crocket. Are there some cheesy moments? Yes. Some predictability? Yes. However, it captures the ambiance of those classic 90s scare factor shows such as Are You Afraid of the Dark, Goosebumps, and any serial killer villain that's too charismatic and goofy to completely dislike.
Mr. Crocket has a skewed mind, a warped sense of justice, and the trust of the children. Luring children as a hero, when in truth, Mr. Crocket is the predator living in his own world he pretends is a heaven or oasis to the youth he seeks out under the noses of the parents who also assume he is safe to watch.
Overall, I'm excited for any continuation of this movie as a series, especially with a fun Black villain we haven't seen since Candyman in my opinion.
