That was accident but now that you mention that, could be symbolic to that. Wasted 30 years trying to get her husbands attention, make him happy, only to realize he's been lying to her about everything and its all hitting her at once like a train. She feels dead inside and doesn't know what to believe anymore. Yet she still wants him and can't understand why.

I think it helps that Davis and Kat play these emotional scenes towards each other, so I like to believe they both pour the love they have toward each other towards their characters.

Davis has a VERY well range of emotions. As does Kat.

Believe me, as someone who’s lost so much and two people as of recently, sometimes, you just gotta scream.
