#mr milo

This is the so asked for update on Mr Milo’s welfare and legal matters. I’m so sorry it took me so long, I kept forgetting to make a post about it 🙄

Mr Milo’s doing really well after everything he’s gone through. He’s a happy kitty, who loves to eat a lot and to pose for pics inside boxes, vases and on his private, scratchy sofa (as you can see above😸). He also loves veggies, who would have thought!

Legally, nothing happened. The solicitor who was in charge of Milo’s file said my neighbours only defended themselves from a violent pet. Emphasis on the “violent pet”. Also, cats are just that, cats. He wouldn’t charge a human/(the mightiest of creatures) for hiting an animal/(meh animals…whatever. Who needs them?)

So, we had to pay for the vets bill and now Milo can’t go outside without a leash. Funny how things happen, first you train a cat to go in your house and you give him good belly rubs and then you are hiting and mutilating him. How…humane. How nonviolent…but of well, it was the pet’s fault, right?

My cat won’t have his eye back. He’s super scared of loud noises and brooms (the tool he was hit with). Whenever I walk faster he cringes in fear and if we raise our voices he turns very anxious. All this while my neighbours live their lives without a punishment for what they did. They should have, at least, paid for the vet, which happened to have left my parents with a debt (fortunately we were able to pay everything already)

But I can’t complain that much, can I? I have my kitty and I love him more every day. He survived and he lives his life as normally as he can. He’s happy, he’s spoiled rotten, and if everything goes well, he’ll live a long and good life.

I’m all about forgiving, peace and love, but this…this I still can’t forgive. Not after everything my neighbours said to me. Not after they made fun of this situation. ‘i know how I hit him.’ one of them said to me one day as they showed the broom they used. ‘i know how I hit him. I did it to kill him. I’m sure he won’t be coming back from the vet.’ I won’t forget those cold words anytime soon. How can someone just hurt, to cause pain, for the sake of it it’s unthinkable to me (or any other reason really). And that, I’m so sorry, but I can’t forgive. At least, not just yet.

Anyway, this is just me getting all emotional when I think back on everything that happened. Don’t mind me 😊
