Long awaited update:
Iโm still sick, but hopefully getting better. Iโve been bedridden for several weeks, Iโve really lost track. Iโve been hospitalized a few times at this point.
Well the news is: Iโm pregnant! And sadly, like my last pregnancy, I have Hyperemesis Gravidarum once again.
I think Iโm getting more energy back and will hopefully be able to take control of my life again soon.
For the time being, my hiatus will continue, thank you to everyone who has stuck around.

In the caverns, some of the drapping stalactites had back lighting, so this amazing translucent banding could be more visible ๐ฑ๐งก

Something different, with a video below!! This is an organ that plays literal stalactites! Invented in 1954, that took 3 years to create, it electronically taps selected stalactites of specific tunes! I was so happy we were able to experience this, and was almost brought to tears because it was so cool.
The video is nothing like the actual experience, but still too cool not to share! Also people were told to be quiet but obviously some didnโt listen.

Behold: Titania's Veil (the white formation on the wall nearly centered in the photo)! It is striking pure-white calcite, and this drip formation grows only 1 cubic inch every 120-300 years!

A couple weeks ago, I visited the Luray Caverns in Virginia! This is the โDream Lakeโ in the cavern, which is an optical illusion created by this body of water (the stalactites are reflected)!
