Lost Souls | Author's Note
Hi,
I apologize to everyone who thought another chapter had been posted.
The chapter is almost finished, but this school year has been awful, and I didn’t know what to do first. And when I had a little time, I tried to refine my vision for the fanfic—what I plan to do with the characters, and so on. At one point, I even got carried away in my imagination, and the fanfic turned into a family saga that I’m not sure I’ll ever actually write. Now I’ve been enjoying a month of freedom before I have to study this August for the exam I failed. The only thing I can promise is that the next chapter will definitely be out this year, after the exam, before school starts again 😅.
The reason I’m also writing this message is that Kerri Maniscalco—who owns all the characters (except for you, dear reader) and the world in which the story takes place (and I don’t claim any of the above as my own)—has shared her ideas for her next book. Of course, we don’t know which prince she’s writing about, but I have a strong hunch it’ll be Lust. And part of those ideas involved something like kissing in the rain, if I remember correctly.
But that idea occurred to me, too. And I wouldn’t want anyone to think that I’m copying the author herself or stealing her ideas. That’s why I want to give you a little hint of what you can look forward to—if there’s anyone here who’s interested. Warning: minor spoiler!
My plans for the future include that kissing and dancing in the rain, emotional denial (especially on Lust’s part), some scenes in the library where the reader and Lust grow closer, as well as the revelation of the reader’s fondness for lusty books, flying together, a picnic, private hot springs under Lust's castle, piano and cooking future meals with Emilia. I’m also planning Camilla’s pregnancy, which the reader will help bring to a successful outcome.
Unfortunately, there’s also a darker side to my fanfiction that directly concerns the reader’s mental health, such as deepening depression, suicidal thoughts, verbal bullying, verbal abuse and humiliation, and an attempted rape. There will also be an agreement/contract that the reader enters into with Sloth.
I was shocked myself when I saw that post on Instagram and realized that we match on some points. Of course, her next book may not be about Lust. But in case it isn’t, that’s why I’m writing this message.
Once again, I apologize to those who were hoping this was another chapter. However, I’ve long felt the need to write this message for the reasons mentioned above. The original plan was to include it with the next chapter, but that chapter won’t be coming out in the next three weeks. So I decided to write this before it’s too late, because Kerri Maniscalco will definitely finish her book before I finish this fanfiction. (I also wish I had all the time in the world to write 😩)
