I never really appreciated the fact that a constantly repeated characteristic about elves was how they are extremely conventionally attractive. And the said conventionally attractive elves are all skinny, which is inherently implying that people who are plus size are not attractive which is obviously incorrect. The ONLY elf who is deemed overweight is Mr. Forkle while he’s in disguise and his entire disguise is meant to be perceived as human. And the only other human characters that play a more major role were Sophie’s human parents and sophie actively compared the characteristics of her physical traits to her family at some point in the first book stating, “the slender blonde among her chubby brunette family” why did one of the main differences that had to be stated be about their body types? It always rubbed me the wrong way
