it has everything to do with the fact that rivet is 50 and morphie is 18 but it cracks me up how rivet has no idea where her girlfriend is and is like "my feelings are my own business, i must bear up bravely and get on with it because to do otherwise would be to shame myself and her" and meanwhile morpheme is living a block away from her girlfriend and is like "I AM DYING FOR WANT OF HER, MY EVERY NERVE IS BURNING UP WITH LOVE, TAKE MY RIGHT ARM IF IT WOULD ONLY GRANT ME ONE KISS"
Whelmed
Currently on the chapter in my linguistics class that’s talking about morphemes, specifically, free and bound morphemes. The example was that -whelmed in overwhelmed and underwhelmed doesn’t stand as it’s own word, so it isn’t a free morpheme.
But I’ll be honest, the idea of using whelmed as word is very funny to me.
