no jokes I'm getting tired of seeing Hector's tag, thinking it'll be the sweetheart himself, only to see that it's the fanon yandere version
don't get me wrong, I do love yanderes... sometimes. all I ask is for people to tag it as such
I've been looking for the sweet and respectful Hector content, y'know, the canon Hector. but instead I'm left to starve💔
Hector's (or even Fantina) not even a yandere in canon, yanderes have to violent in one way or another in order to be actual yanderes- if not then they're just obsessed stalkers, or maybe they're just obsessed or just a stalker either way, which is why it's so frustrating to me💔💔

While I'm on the topic, I think we've all heard that anti-rc argument about them having a decade between them, which while canon itself says that VILE's criteria is "young, talented and orphaned", which already makes the entire thing null and void.
Even before season 3, it's such a weird thing to say, cause um, this is a criminal organization, I think the first thing that anyone who's seen stuff like this would assume about their operatives is that they're young, for a multitude of reasons:-
It gives them more time to be useful and also they'll learn it quickly, getting someone who's in their mid-twenties to thirties will not be that beneficial, and also y'know grooming for loyalty (the show used that word not me).
So just why would you think that there's this huge age gap in the first place like why, it makes no sense if you think about it for more than two seconds.
Ok, 911: Nashville update - because if I have to suffer through this, everyone’s gonna know about it...
So we’ve reached the point where they’ve just had the gall to actually copy and paste the Carlos and TK baby talk scene, complete with their own animal baby substitutes… and honestly, my jaw was on the actual floor when I realised where this conversation was heading. I cannot believe they genuinely did the exact same scene! I am actually shook. It's beyond them recycling the same disasters and storylines now; they are literally using, almost word for word, the same character beats… what?! What the hell is this show? I actually cannot comprehend the fact that this show is real… and yet there it is happening right in front of me. Flashing cute baby animals in my face is not going to distract me from the fact that it is literally plagiarising itself. And at the same time, it’s proving that a brilliant scene is nothing without the proper setup…
The Lone Star scene was built on 4 seasons of chemistry, growth and learning about the personalities of TK and Carlos, both individually and as a couple. We’ve followed them through highs and lows and thought there was nothing that could break them, until the having kids conversation comes into play. And then, when we discover the basis of Carlos’s apprehensions on the subject, it is rooted in the foundations of his character development from throughout the show. It’s not just adding conflict for conflict's sake; it’s about pushing the conversations needed to help both characters grow as individuals, understand their own desires, and come together in compromise, making them stronger as a unit.
Even the pet situation is based on the previous set-up of TK's love of animals (present since S1), which on its own merit relates to his desire to be a parent, as well as calls back to the lizard situation of S3, which even further builds the impact of Carlos’s actions because he didn’t actually like the lizard! Carlos bringing home a big ass bearded dragon speaks to how much he loves TK, because he knows TK loves reptilian creatures (over the conventional dog or cat), and that he, who doesn't really see the appeal, is willing to put that aside for TK. There are so many dimensions to this scene beyond simply introducing a cute pet to the series.
Now back to the Nashville scene… Who knows, maybe it could have been somewhat cute if I knew nothing about the original scene's existence, oh, and if I gave a single shit about the relationship of Sam and Ryan… which I don’t, because Sam is one of the dullest characters in this show. There is no chemistry between these two people (I honestly don’t think there is any chemistry between anyone in this show, but that’s just me.) Because we came straight in on them already being married, and they barely have any screen time together, we have zero foundation for what this relationship even is. Therefore, I don't actually know what they look like at their best vs them at their worst, because the show only gives them exploration when they're at their worst. Nothing is being done to make me care about these two, therefore I couldn't care less about this conversation they are having - in fact, I'm more on the side of them not having kids because ultimately I don't think they're a very good couple. Ryan and Sam are not Carlos and TK, they’re not Bobby and Athena, or Grace and Judd, they’re not even Nancy and Mateo - they’re nothing, and I genuinely keep forgetting they’re supposed to be married.
(I did not mean for that to get so long... moving on.)
Oh, and they also now have their very own budget Carlos introduced… he is literally an LGBTQ+ POC patrol cop who lives with the paramedic member of the fire team… are you kidding me?!? He walked on screen, and I said out loud - he’ll be gay - because this show can do nothing original, heck, they can’t even do anything vaguely different at this point. On a separate note, there is a significant absence of queerness in this show. How is that even possible? It's a Ryan Murphy show! It's supposedly from the same creatives that gave us Hen and Karen, Michael Grant, Josh, Buck (though, I'm not actually a fan of how they're handling Buck at the minute and do not get me started on them not doing anything with Tommy), Carlos, TK, and Paul Strickland! Most of whom were introduced and given exploration within their respective first seasons. Why is there NOTHING in Nashville, except the gay couple in the whisky distillery situation and budget Carlos, who was only there to create a bit of tension between Blue and Taylor?
With every episode I have to sit through, I am more convinced that ai wrote this show. Along with there being some sort of mandate against them showing any sort of queerness... we had already watched the 911 crossover before starting Nashville, and it honestly felt like they forgot Buck is supposed to be bi with how Eddie uses the prospect of "bacholerettes" to get Buck to go out partying with him. (I acknowledge I may be nitpicking with that, but it's still a bad crossover with so many problems, so I don't care.)
(GASP!)
Oh my god, I just looked at the name of the next episode... "Don BEGINS"... The flashback episode is literally using the same naming system as 911's flashback episodes... Lone Star didn't even do that. Is it really that hard to come up with something original?! (Then again, if it was written by ai, I suppose so.)
Seriously, why does this show exist!? It’s honestly baffling and extremely tragic.
We are so rewatching Lone Star after all this shit!
JFC!!!!! WHY CANT PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT SHANE ISN'T BEING "TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF"!!!! He is a grown ass man who is making the same decision as Ilya - the decision to take as much of each other as they can get, and try to ignore their burgeoning feelings of love.
The fuck buddies thing that they have going on for 8-9 years is MUTUAL!!!! For the people in the back:
IT'S MUTUAL!!!!!!!!!!
It isn't simply up to ILYA to determine "what they are"!! Every fucking reactor I watch is like, "I'm team Shane. Ilya needs to say what this is between them?"
WHY?!!! Why does defining their relationship ONLY fall onto Ilya's shoulders?
Do they need to communicate their true feelings to each other? Of course? Is Shane out here every day declaring his undying love for Ilya over those 9 years while Ilya tells him to fuck off?!!
No. Of course he is NOT!!
And - IN FACT - it is Ilya who first extends some kind of branch to Shane, an attempt to define them, to make them something more than just rivals who fuck.
And Shane freaks the fuck out and RUNS!!
Again, please understand that I'm not blaming Shane. I completely understand why he reacts the way he does to everything as well.
But it's BOTH boys who lack proper communication skills, it's something they have to work towards.
Yet somehow it's ALWAYS Ilya who's the villain to these people, he's always the one who has to "do better"!
Why?
Also - so many people seem to forget the life these guys are living.
Even beyond the obvious things that are keeping them out of an actual relationship like:
Their own fear of love and commitment.
Their fear of being outed if things get too serious
Their fear of losing their careers
Ilya's fear that without a working visa, he'll be sent back to Russia to face unthinkable consequences
Beyond all of those things, is the simple reality of their lifestyles. Given their careers and Ilya's responsibilities in Russia, they don't have a whole lot of time. So "fuck buddies" seems, to both men, to be their only option.
I'm sorry, I'm sure anyone reading these rant posts are sick of them, but I can't help it. People INFURIATE ME!
And I need justice for Ilya. Because this is the man people are calling mean and toxic:
This soft cinnamon roll. Come on people, YOU need to do better in understanding complex situations and characters.
I'd like to say it's been a good run, Amerika, but it hasn't been. Not really. Which is an unacceptable statement in the Land of the Free. People in the U.S are so thoroughly indoctrinated with "mandatory patriotism" that they react to any criticism of the nation the way Alex and his droogs responded to the old Irish drunk.
You know what the U.S. is? It's the socioeconomic geographical embodiment of John Rowlands.
"Who?" you're most likely saying.
You might better know him as Sir Henry Morton Stanley.
"Who?" you're most likely repeating.
The guy best known for saying (probably apocryphally) "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?"
"Could you make your fucking point!" you're probably saying.
Okay.
John Rowlands was born an illegitimate (bastard) child in Wales in 1841. His mother soon abandoned him. He spent some time being raised by various relatives but ends up in St. Asaph Union Workhouse for the Poor. Not a great place to grow up. This upbringing, and the fact that he never knew either of his parents, affected him for the rest of his life. He was insecure. Given to exaggeration and embellishment and occasional outright lies. He absolutely had an inferiority complex.
He was also possibly one of the greatest European explorers ever, exploring more of Africa than anyone before him. He also has the unique distinction of having served in the Confederate Army, Union Army, and Union Navy in the U.S. Civil War.
The problematic part of Rowlands/Stanley is that sense of insecurity that he was plagued by. It caused him to brag about a toughness that he didn't actually display. His habitual exaggeration actually mars great accomplishments by casting doubt. "If you lied about this, maybe none of it is true." It also gained him enemies.
He gets accused (by rivals and enemies) of being a cruel, brutal, psychopathic, racist. His journals, and the testimony of his devoted indigenous companions, indicates otherwise. He might be the ultimate example of "Dude, just be yourself!" Because he did do some bad shit but not nearly at the level he's accused of. His accomplishments catch shade from accusations that were often spread by his enemies. His avoidance of the plain truth means that people still argue about just who he was and what he actually did some 121 years after his death.
It's the way the U.S carries itself too. Embarrassed about our youth, bragging a bit too much about how awesome we are, and not realizing that the truth about bad things is not bad. The action is bad but owning it doesn't make it worse."My country, right or wrong!" And? And? What does that even fucking mean? Are you reminding yourself that you live here?
How about "My country, right AND wrong and we will admit the wrongs and learn from our mistakes and become better"?
Seriously. Find me a decade, just one decade, in the history of the United States when some seriously fucked up shit wasn't going on. A lack of transparency and honesty about the history of this country creates a narrative lacking self-awareness. A fragility of national ego. An absolute inability to accept any form of criticism.
Patriotism is loving your country and wanting it to be the best it can be. This naturally requires admitting to mistakes so that you can fix them.
Nationalism says "My country is the greatest because I've been told so!" It puts a country above reproach or accountability. The "greatest" country clearly has no flaws. It need answer to no one. Internal criticism is treachery, external criticism is jealousy. It makes no mistakes so never has to fix anything. You clearly don't redress wrongs when there are none.
Cherry-picked history is a clear red flag for nationalism. Columbus, Pilgrims, Pioneers, Founding Fathers, turning a treasonous uprising to preserve slavery into a bullshit myth about state's rights. Ignore/forget slavery, genocide, racism, massacres, theft of land, the continuous lies of broken treaties. Pretend that we didn't try to buy Cuba and consider conquering all of Central and South America (and turn it all into new slave states).
Look. I studied actual history. Books written by scholars. Books not written with the intention of being used in public schools to propogate "American" glory. These books weren't "anti-American" because they told the truth. They didn't turn me into a 'commie" or "bleeding heart liberal". I would not be this angry and depressed if I didn't believe that the United States has the tools, the potential, the capability, to become the great country it claims to be.
Somewhere there's a balancing point. Somehow there has to be a way to lead without lying. But as I have said, there is no decade where this country wasn't doing things it shouldn't. Even as it was doing great things that SHOULD be done. But if you pretend you never make mistakes you'll just keep making mistakes. If power isn't held accountable it will always do whatever is best for IT.

I need Narumi & Ashiro being friends to get more content. Or just acknowledgment. Like, from B-Side it seems that they joined the defense force around the same time (and seem to be about the same age), so it makes sense that the two people seen as “monsters” with unnaturally high releases so quickly would find some solace in each other, being the only one who understand somewhat what they’re going through
I’m not talking best friends (though I would enjoy that lol) or siblings, more like work friends maybe? Or just good friends? Like they’re not texting 24/7, but they definitely complain about captain-related duties they have to deal with (“istg there is no reason we’ve had to have 2 entire captains meetings with the higher-ups this month alone. Things are for sure busier, but they’re not that interesting!!”). Think sharing a look across the meeting room like “these idiots that have never seen combat are disregarding my input again like I haven’t been right every time.”
If you think Hoshina is the only one that rags on Narumi for beating him for one of the “best” records absolutely think again. It’s nowhere near as often, but when Narumi’s being a bitch during a joint exercise (like he inevitably will be), Mina will toss out a comment like “sounds like you’re not spending any time training to beat my record, how surprising” and Narumi’ll go “oh fUck yOu,” rising to the slight a bit less than when Hoshina does it
As much as they have the rivalry of their divisions, they both definitely trust each other, as I think we’ve seen in the last fight in the manga. They trust and respect each other’s skills, strength, and dependability when it comes down to it, and that’s honestly the best foundation of any dynamic
