there is something to be said for the kids who have to fight themselves day after day. the kids who understand that their friends do not hate them, but feel panic every time a text goes unanswered or plans end up cancelled. the kids who get up and force themselves out of bed at the ringing of their alarms only to dread returning that night for fear of the thoughts that will plague them if they aren’t tired enough to pass out as soon as their heads hit the pillows. the kids who struggle to eat because they have no appetite. the kids who get good grades and excel but only because their fear of failure and need for perfection won’t let them do anything less. here’s to the kids who fight. may you always have the strength to keep fighting.
