I love my new baby~
Monty's first (forced) meal! Poor baby wouldn't eat the first time we offered him a mouse, so last night dad came over to help. (Don't worry, force feedings are normal with pythons, and the method we used did not harm the animal.)
Hopefully he will eat like a champ further down the line!
And the third of my Sonic OCs, to think he originated from a pun of something I probably shouldn't have been watching at the age when I first made him. (it was okay though, I had adult supervision and permission) Anyway, Monty was originally just A Random Snake with arms and also hair in a long ponytail for some reason, neither of which entirely make sense for a Sonic-ified snake. But hey, when I first made the guy we'd be quite a few years out from Lyric existing (and to be fair, Sonic Boom as a game, uh...it uh...it sure existed! ^ ^; shame it was so rushed, it might've done a bit more than just exist idk, the show's funny at least and Boom!Shadow thankfully didn't suck ass like I was worried about when I first found out he'd been included at all!) and I was never into the comics so I didn't know about the...maybe one very minor snake character in the comics that woulda been out by then, and even that character had organic arms so I Feel Vindicated XD I did still wanna play around with robot arms in this new version, so he has Both, short lil organic ones that can operate the bigger ones. Also he's the tech guy of Team Trackers now! He cobbled together old Eggman scrap that Jazz..."liberated" in order to build those robot arms, hehe.
I still wanted to keep the Shape of his old hairstyle, so that's why he wears a hat with feathers to call back to the old ponytail. Also while I didn't have a way to show it off in this sketch specifically, Monty is very hard of hearing, so because hearing aids don't really work with animals that don't quite have external ears he often wears a visor with a custom-made speech-to-text program built into it for when things get too hectic for those with him to use sign language as he'd prefer (which I didn't design before finishing the sketch for this piece but I didn't feel like adding them in later lol). As for verbal speech from him, while not a "never", he would very much rather nooot for both practical and personal reasons hehe.
