The other patrol was boring 🫠

... because on this beautiful, but cold, day we seem to be flattening the curve:

“The number of ‘active’ or current cases across Australia slipped below 1000 this week... 26 new cases were reported in the past 48 hours.”

That meant there was a rule change yesterday which means that tomorrow I can go to visit my parents (although not hug them), for the first time in many weeks.  Perhaps more loosening of restrictions will come next Friday as well.

Plus - my new contract came through, so I am one of the lucky ones with a job, at least until 2021 comes around.  It’s been a real rollercoaster ride which has left me taking on new responsibilities and leaving others behind, at least for the rest of the year.  I’m OK with that - the new team is good, and I enjoy learning new things.  I am still working from home, which I am fine with.

And finally - I am embarking this week on a serious exercise actually to complete the first draft of my novel before the year is out... which will be based on one of my fics.  So please wish me luck with that!  (It might even inspire me to finish the fic itself - I am so close...)  It is something I have always dreamed of doing... and if not now, then when?

In all of this, I’m not too worried about any other goals at the moment. I’ve been following the principles I set last month pretty well, so I am happy about that.

Overall, I am feeling very fortunate today.  Hope that you are doing OK, wherever you are in the world, my lovely followers and friends.  Take care and look after yourselves.
