We are doing our last dev challenge before the soft open! We have been so inspired to see your lovely characters, aesthetic and dev already, we’re bringing around another!

THE MONOCHROMANTIC DEV CHALLENGE

mon·o·chro·mat·ic /ˌmänōkrəˈmadik/ adjective containing or using only one color.

What color does your muse evoke to you? Colors can reveal many things about a person, for instance, are they a demure dusky blue or a wild fire engine red? This can either be a photomanipulation of your face claim, or a monochromatic piece of artwork that resonates with your character. If you’d rather, you can write about the color you choose and how that relates to your character by short story or post. Tell us about your character through the reflection of color!

Choose one base hue for your monochromatic theme and extend it using shades, tones or tints, but don’t deviate around the color wheel, i.e. blue to purple or yellow to orange.

White, black and greys are fair game.

Be sure to include your alias for the drawing and the character’s name and species (if you know it), or you can leave the mystery for later.

You can have one submission per character concept, up to three. For instance, if you have three character concepts, you can have one submission for each; not three submissions for one character.

Please keep all three dev pieces in one post per character.

Each participant will receive 50pts in their site account regardless of how many submissions are made.

Submissions will be counted from Friday August 27 12:00AM EST to Sunday August 29 11:59PM EST and chosen that following Monday at random to be posted on tumblr with the results.

Left breathless in an endless search for what I mean and for what purpose I have been created for. As time passes these visions become endless pools of thoughts, dreams and yet clarity. Still I have not fully grasped whom it is I must become and with whom I become it with. The purpose for this passage is to let you know of all u changed inside of me.

And with difficulties expressing my true feelings in your presence, I've searched for what words and tone flavor your preference most, only then could so much suffering have subside. A pain both you and I shared yet never knew. In such a helpless state of mind, communication became out of reach and we slowly grew apart.

In this retrospect, you must know I have grown the deepest love for you. I will forever keep in my heart all that you portrayed as a person. As I see these pictures of you I feel the touch of your soul. I see the truth I have long admired. It's beauty sings highly to me as the choirs do above. Your eyes captivate one easily, the most beautiful I have ever seen. Your skin, a thing of beauty is a treasure itself. Your entire outlook is so grand, I sense the steps of an angel walking by.

Let us not speak of the tears that tore you from within and kept chaos in your heart. In time of your most discomfort, I was not there. Three winters pass and the moment still not gone. These frozen landscapes weep for the fire to shine. A language both you and I shared had been lost forever?

I flee from doom again as these mousetraps leave me stumbling wounded after. I ran past you if I recall, but only as menace to an outwitted brawl. Not even perhaps a carne asada did I behold in a timely manner and with another mocha still advised of a guest I failed to capture. Then when all was almost certain, malevolence broke once again inbetween.

You seem so sweet to me yet under monochrome we seem to tumble. Hindsight braves a mighty role on the steps of our encounter. I loiter in thoughts flagged execution and though this tale be tried as false it now weighs market dark. Thus words and images gone forbidden as the phantom reach renounces them and though trailed it seems I be, I remain for them, [not] just another target.

When will I learn to trust the reason that preludes before I conclude? My imagination waterfalls as I read to mind the wrong reaction. I lay cold 'neath bladen sheets and a feline hair companion only to contemplate darkest thoughts that be. My words now deemed illegal have fabricated further influence it may seem. Aethereal lays further now as stalemate conjures a moments block between. For this I promise no doubt-I shall undo revert and bring him crumbling down; as for his handler, I know now whom you are. None shall ever hinder dreams that once bestowed when told by universal crown.

I mark today another chapter: one of strive and deprive. I glimpse at shattered gifs once laid wide open and between the red dress coffee beans and a gentleman's layover, I thought I chose true; but my mind intervened as voi2e travels far beneath. A nueron love that blooms is the only seed remains from forgotten leaves that stem wavelength parabola. Inertia swamps over me as I thrust in rage a moment blasphemy. I am the fool who trusts and yet further learn that I still must. If only to declare another chance to fuel arms creativity as its all the artillary I've ever deemed. Pages falling (can you hear them scream?).

Under moonlight I endure rapid paces of heart as I tremble thoughts befallen you. As I am struck by electronic waves unforseen, I shake only to coil beneath tired blankets. I am both cold and frozen and rather distraught with disbelief of an image monochrome I implore to see none and unprojected. The phantom reach has taken two forms as one sheds havoc upon the dearest dreams I hold. I've gone shattered without you near and know the breaking of soul is like solar fires beyond my atmosphere as they intrude the digital entry that defines the bits within.

Revert on the dance floor came with this in mind as he prepared to mark my candle unholy with forbidden knowledge I've long rejected. As I stayed stll, a brave companion once like foe whispered of songs to the wrong contender but now stands greater as inverted from wrong he hath now done. The waltz was lit in heavy rain as soldiers stood strong. As it were the one with greater the sacrifice to be made is the one whom stands taller after all.

Latte trees adorn me as does the snow covered 'sill. Light bleams crimson through winter frost as to beckon fire as to carry on. I do recall a lady fair whom caught attention elusive when she wore dress tight as bark as it penciled down to earth before I gambled a parade only to fall short of her encounter. On my way home agent ice stood before and while others celebrate he unwrapped metal with bare hands as I glanced a second before I took the path I knew and would be back led astray only to fail later on again.

I begotten mully's on a giving I delivered pie to the wrong family. In this evening dusk she came to bare the beauty of her lady fair. Yet my sadness weighed deep within and in foresight (game of pool) I missed cue. Payaso stood a brisk as I fumbled through the crowded floor. The sight of that one empty seat gave this evening blight. So I left only to offend a lady cordial as I bid this night goodnight. If shots be known, I'd give all to whom stayed. I'll come to find you before another day.

Ornaments guild way as I explore for the safest place to keep. Having been exciled from the city of neon lights I've alotted on sepia doorsteps. The return of the raven sweeps when memoirs cease the clouds upfront. Though in eklipse she further got. Ado a flight, she morrowed macchiato when I least expected much. I stand lowly before such opportune lost. Even so the gentleman whom I mistook came to overlook the man in beast. He towered digital worlds apart as to read and intervene. And as he hails, firefly lies dormant above rooftops that are no longer known to crimson roads.

In an evening when ghouls come out to play I saw an angel whose eyes that smoke spoke to me in ways I could not yet conceive. Her mysterious ways vibrated here within before and never with such a heavy flutter I have yearned. It is in the flames we burn that we now shine. In hollow greyscapes I've been dubbed [monochromantic] for only you I'll colour for.

The ever-persistant, fluttering bird hovered down to sing to her- not knowning what was to transpire he might've sang another day.

So it now betold that in this particular moment; his only doing was to comfort in presence of her skies turned grey.

A tale threshold of this honest bird and the butterfly whom he admired. The great curiousity for her splendid wings, little bird sought and so desired.

It was this winter eve early bird fled to catch his favorite worm. So it betold this curious nature and admiration became reason to amourn.

For her delicate wings sailed across the sky who woke mountains high with ave maria sung in merit and brought comfort in the air as it inspired unrivaled spirit for her reflection he adore.

Her essence seemed so great that it inspired the young bird to fly close to and by her side. And he did for many months had passed and their wings felt secured and unified.

She was embellished with the finest flowers residing on the little bird's nest; upon tallest tree tops, over highest mountains, under great falling waters -showcasing gaia's very best.

"Such a beautiful voice that comes from thee..." She spoke once or twice to he. "But you are to feather as I am to moth, so I must confine our distance on this branch for this reason I stand aloft.

"Don't go my beautiful creature, I live once and once alone and you are worth my song and respect." Chirps the silent bird, "Let it be known that all this place has no beauty without you in retrospect."

But fate had its way when the virtuously perfect creature's wings were torn by fatal adoration of the bird whose only intention hold was her luminous flight and thus destroyed by his admiration.
