1. The first time you saw her the sky was blue and you could feel the heat of the sun against your skin. You were too young to know what love was but there was something in your stomach that made you think that you were going to know her forever. 

2. Cigarettes and whiskey. The blue neon light highlighted your face as you looked to the bartender. An old friend who had more or less grown up with you, curfew was about to hit, and the other crowd began to file out of the bar. You didn’t have time to worry about their woes tonight you only had enough to shoulder your own.

DEV CHALLENGE 08/27-08/29

We are doing our last dev challenge before the soft open! We have been so inspired to see your lovely characters, aesthetic and dev already, we’re bringing around another!

THE MONOCHROMANTIC DEV CHALLENGE

mon·o·chro·mat·ic /ˌmänōkrəˈmadik/ adjective containing or using only one color.

What color does your muse evoke to you? Colors can reveal many things about a person, for instance, are they a demure dusky blue or a wild fire engine red? This can either be a photomanipulation of your face claim, or a monochromatic piece of artwork that resonates with your character. If you’d rather, you can write about the color you choose and how that relates to your character by short story or post. Tell us about your character through the reflection of color!

Choose one base hue for your monochromatic theme and extend it using shades, tones or tints, but don’t deviate around the color wheel, i.e. blue to purple or yellow to orange.

White, black and greys are fair game.

Be sure to include your alias for the drawing and the character’s name and species (if you know it), or you can leave the mystery for later.

You can have one submission per character concept, up to three. For instance, if you have three character concepts, you can have one submission for each; not three submissions for one character.

Please keep all three dev pieces in one post per character.

Each participant will receive 50pts in their site account regardless of how many submissions are made.

Submissions will be counted from Friday August 27 12:00AM EST to Sunday August 29 11:59PM EST and chosen that following Monday at random to be posted on tumblr with the results.
