Been a hot minute since I talked about this sort of thing, but if I were to do my own version of ThunderCats, then Monkian/Addicus would so be re-imagined as a chimpanzee. Chimpanzees are pretty terrifying.
Also, unrelated, but I'm wondering what would it be like to have different squads of ThunderCats? Some time ago I created a document of my own ThunderCats team with it consisting of a white lioness, a golden tigress, a king cheetah, a white panther, a snow leopard, a bobcat, a clouded leopard, a caracal and a serval with the snow leopard being the counterpart to Bengali, the bobcat the counterpart to Pumyra, the clouded leopard the counterpart to Lynx-O and the caracal and serval counterpart to the Wily twins.
Do I really need to say who the other four are counterparts to?
My whole idea was that there would just be this other team having their own adventures independent of Lion-O and company and now I'm just wondering what if there are various squads/teams/whatever of ThunderCats? What if Grune were just to be leading his own group, all of them being based on prehistoric species and all of them morally grey individuals, the anti-hero team if you will.
Oh, yeah and since I read the sales pitch of the original show for the first time in a while, I now have placeholder names for the caracal and the serval "Carac-L" and "Serv-L." Again, placeholders names. If I can't think of better names, they will stay. Carac-L is the male member of the duo, Serv-L is the female member of the duo.

Back in the late 80s, six issues of the Thundercats Magazine were published.
They, uh, honestly didn’t have a ton to do with Thundercats: the contents were a Thundercats cover, usually reproduced as a poster; a letter page with fanart; short movie, book, and tv promos (Eye on Earth); articles about nature or something else of interest; puzzles and a quiz; lots and lots of ads; and a short Thundercats comic.
The file name says which issue. If you want to credit, I’m Silvercat17 on Dreamwidth or WingedTyger on Tumblr
