I have yet to put this refurbished Old Hickory to real use, but I can already tell it is going to become one of my favorites. It simply oozes that old world, hand crafted, oft-romanticized feel that I love. It wouldn't be hard to imagine an old frontier-era trapper or mountain man pulling a knife akin to this one from his belt to perform a myriad of tasks. The knife is about as simple as you can get, and although it wasn't made to be pretty, it find it has a beauty of its own, the kind that you can only get from carbon steel sporting a good patina and well worn hickory scales.
