hey anon! so excited to hear you’re considering applying for Minerva -- I know we’d all love to have her around. here are a few things to think about in your app:

Minerva has known most of the other characters since they were eleven, has watched them closely as they grew and became warriors, and then as they grieved and became much more. what does she think of them all, now? does she feel responsible? 

how has she been affected by Dumbledore’s death and by taking over his position at Hogwarts? what did he -- or didn’t he -- tell her before he died? (about James? about the Deathly Hallows? about Horcruxes?) other than taking over as headmaster and keeping her eye on things, was there anything else he tasked her with doing? 

I’d love to hear about Minerva’s private life -- who is she when she isn’t a Professor, a Headmaster? who is she when she’s home alone? are there other people in her life, or is she solitary? what did she expect her life to look like, when she was seventeen and finishing Hogwarts?

as with any character, also make sure she feels like a real person, and has a sense of direction: what are her goals, what plots can you see her getting involved with, where would you like to see her go and grow?

Frank made a habit of leaving the Ministry for lunch whenever possible. It was a chance for him to take a break, clear his head and get some distance from the job. Stepping back from whatever it was he was working on typically allowed to get some distance from the issues and come back with a fresh perspective as well as keeping him from burning out or getting overly stressed. Obviously there were days when leaving wasn’t possible, but on those days that he could manage to get a break for a bit, he was quick to take advantage. 

Today he’d chosen a small cafe near the Ministry that had a large outdoor patio so that he could enjoy the sunshine. As much as the charmed windows in the office could emulate a sunny day, there was nothing quite like actually being outside. The restaurant was crowded, but he’d managed to beat the rush and get seated rather quickly. He sat with his back to the building so he could watch the crowd over the top of his menu, which was why he so easily caught sight of Minerva McGonagall frowning and checking her watch when she was informed of the restaurant’s wait time. He didn’t know the woman well, but he recognized her and knew that they were both fighting for the same cause. Now seemed like as good a time as any to get to know her. 

Remus often struggles to find self-assurance in his actions, so there are quite a few things that could cause him to question himself. The insecurities that were forged in his childhood have caused him to second guess himself constantly as an adult in most every aspect of his life, from friendships to work, and most recently, the war.
