Proud to be the keynote speaker and presenter at @accessibleyoga in Toronto June 22-24. Join us for a diverse and inclusive representation of yoga. #Repost @accessibleyoga with @get_repost ・・・ Can’t wait to have a listen! ⤵️ #Repost @kathrynbruniyoung ・・・ Yesterday I interviewed @jivana108 of @accessibleyoga for the #mindfulstrengthpodcast and we talked about what accessible movement is, how we have gotten the wrong idea about yoga, why accessible isn't necessarily gentle, and how making a class accessible is also making it trauma informed. So many great tidbits, if you are a teacher you should follow this page! And there's a conference in Toronto, which offers wonderful contributing ed for teachers. Check it out!! ______________________________ #kby #mindfulstrength #accessibleyoga #toronto #yoga #yogateachertraining #practice #mindfulness #hathayoga #education
#yogaquote of the day! This quote so clearly expresses what i have been trying to convey about #yoga - 🔥if advanced physical mastery of asana makes an advanced yogi then every gymnast, dancer and contortionist would be enlightened! 💫 There are so many other layers beyond #asana practice - even someone with an injury or disability that prevents asana practice in the traditional sense can use the tools of yoga for transformation - 👉but sadly since yoga is currently portrayed as something performed by the hyper fit & flexible - people who do not see those asanas as attainable in their body (for any number of reasons) and never start the journey. 💥💥Lets make an effort to represent yoga as something that is accessible to everyone and to show progress as something that can happen on all layers, not just physical!💥💥 ------------------ #repost from @kathrynbruniyoung ------------------ More #mindfulstrengthpodcast highlights. We are taking the podcast to new heights, if you haven't listened in a while I now have an editor which means there are less "umms" and professional level sound quality. Plus a medley of teachers/educators who have blown me away! Just when I think I understand something I have a conversation, and I'm reassembling the pieces all over again. Take a moment, subscribe, review, but more importantly... ENJOY! ______________________________ #kby #mindfulstrength #yoga #yogateachertraining #movement #practicewithme #practice #mobility #mindfulness #meditation #accessibleyoga #embodiment (at Galloway, New Jersey)
