-Lost while looking for the mask-
pewku's design is a combination for the mata nui online game and the first movie
finding out more information about pewku, got me inspired to make this little comic
Midak, Toa of Light
Yeah, this dude was totally a displaced Av-Matoran.
Stud.io File
Kanohi Great Pakari, Mask of Strength. The same Pakari he wore as a Matoran. In combination with his physique, he resembles a blend of Toa Onua's Mata and Nuva forms (if you ignore the gold and white armor).
Brilliant Greataxe As a Matoran, Midak carried a small hatchet. A useful tool for collecting bamboo and other fencing material for the Ussal pens. It's also good for scraping dried gunk off of shell—some crabs have a tendency to roll around in Great Spirit knows what... The hatchet transformed with him, becoming a massive axe that borders on unwieldy for most; with muscles honed from years of hard labor, he lifts it with ease. When he's boosted by the Pakari, it might as well be featherlight.
Midak's Skyblaster Gifted to him by the Turaga Nuva upon becoming a Toa. The launcher was named after him, so it's only fair that he gets one of his own to play with.
It's silly, but I like to imagine my Midak as a sort of inverse-Takua.
Takua's bright tricolors vs Midak's black & grey.
Takua was alienated in Ta-Koro, and couldn't focus on work for long before giving in to wanderlust—behavior that got him temporarily banished. Midak, on the other hand, loved his job tending to the Ussals. Although he lived just outside the tunnels, he rarely strayed far from Onu-Koro and saw the village as home (sure, some of his neighbors thought he was strange for enjoying bright sunlight as much as he did, but they didn't know what they were missing out on).
Takanuva changes his name, ditches his old mask and colors, and fully embraces a new identity for himself. Despite things being obvious in hindsight, Midak was shocked when he didn't become a Toa of Earth. He's protective of his Pakari and deliberately keeps some of his armor black as a means of staying grounded to his old life.
Those golden parts are from bootleg sets. Be warned, they're a shade of gold that's too bright and shimmery to match anything from Lego's color palette. GoBricks also sells this shade as 'bright gold' if you're interested in buying loose parts in this color. I also used a bootleg towball socket for the neck. :P
This time we have renders of:
Kalama, Vakama and Nuhrii.
Vhisola, Nokama and Kai.
Tehutti, Midak and Whenua.
Makani, Matau and Orkahm.
Ally, Onewa, and Piatra
Mazeka, Nuju and Ehrye. I know Mazeka never was on Mata Nui. The idea is that The Order send him to secretly check on the Metru Nui Matoran on Mata Nui. He was spotted when he got grabbed by Nui-Rama. He kills it, and falls straight into Ko-Koro.
Iruini, Dume and Norik.
Dalu, Jovan and Velika.
Any thoughts?

Pohatu’s the best toa uncle EVER
(Whenua is much less certain of this)
An animation I began in 2014 but left it unfinished because of various reasons.
