Is that a Mask Monday I hear????
By the stars, it somehow is.
It's been a long while, hasn't it? Allow me to share some updates on the situation.
I still don't have the renovations done yet - admittedly, I've hardly started. Still working on saving up for that... So as it stands, it's likely this could very well be my only release until fall, when this abysmal heat wave passes us by. Death to oil executives. To try to do anything to balance my productivity, I've been testing out larger batches with the safest colour - that being black - to fantastic results so far. Ideally I can make them even larger, but I have yet to see if my colour formulas are messed up by the increase in direct quantity. Time will tell, if I ever get the time again.
The other pressure pot has been busy making molds, which I've also been trying to make more efficiently. It's only slightly working, but still it's nice to have some old molds replaced.
I unfortunately don't have anything exciting to share regarding new colours, as again I've had very little opportunity to test and what I have taken hasn't yielded any exciting results. There are still new masks in Reclamation though, if folks are looking for strange ones. I was really hoping a test would get me something back with a big hurrah, but I'll take being here at all over fading into the ether.
One of us always lies and the other tells the truth
Uh... is this a Fun Fact request?
I'm going to take it as a Fun Fact request. I mean I know you already sent one, but, uh... sure, let's do another. A quick one, anyhow.
Do you know of Kapura? From BIONICLE?
He's a weird little guy who first appears in the original online game. He says...weird, mysterious things at times. By the end of the game, though, he has traveled all over the island on his adventures.
So a while back, long after BIONICLE was canceled (twice!) (*sob*), some fans were making their own free BIONICLE video game. Just a fan project, not to make money, and for years it was fine. Last year, however, LEGO told them to stop it, despite for years being cool with it. So sadly, this game will never get made. However! There's a gameplay video with commentary you can see:
And in it, they mention that not only was Kapura going to be in the game, popping up at different points to talk to, he was going to talk about places he's been and things he'd seen, and what he said was going to depend on what games you had installed on your system. The examples mentioned in the video are, I think, references to Halo and Sonic the Hedgehog--filtered through a BIONICLE lens, obviously.
Pretty neat, huh?
Guess i had enough bricks for the last display.
redoing my kanohi displays

A Bionicle x Steven Universe crossover question
Which kanohi would be better at healing a cracked gem?
A Kiril, which repairs inorganic matter, or a Mask of Healing, which heals flesh, but may still work on Gems because of the fact that they're sapient people and may fall under its powers.
Which mask works better for injured gems?
Kiril
Mask of Healing
My precious!
It's a bit unfair that the Kakama Nuva was the only one to get an additional ability (being able to pass through walls by vibrating yourself really fast) in addition to being shareable as a result of it's upgrade, so I've got some headcanons for upgrades to the other Kanohi Nuva to share.
Kaukau Nuva: Allows the wearer to breathe safely in any environment. Any. Poison gas, buried in dirt, trapped in the vacuum of space? You can breathe freely.
Hau Nuva: Shield no longer needs to 'spawn' on the user before spreading to cover a wider area if desired, can be spawned anywhere within line-of-sight and then begin spreading. Criminal making a run for it? Drop a shield right on top of him and trap him in place.
Miru Nuva: Evolves from a poor Toa's Kadin (Mask of Flight) to a poor Toa's Garai (Mask of Gravity) and can now be used to make someone lighter or heavier as desired.
Pakari Nuva: Can increase a targets strength without giving it the corresponding ability to handle that strength e,g. While fighting someone you overclock them and lob a rock as a follow up, they slap the rock into dust and destroy their own hand in the impact, they go to grab their wrist in shock and pain and end up causing themselves even more damage as a result. This can be turned off at any point.
Akauku Nuva: More vision modes than just X-ray; Infrared, ultraviolet, shrimp colours, etc. If part of a Kaita fusion such as the Rua Nuva, the Kaita wearing this (in this case Wairuha) can use the power of the fusion to gaze into alternate dimensions at random (DO NOT DO THIS).
