1-Live Action History:

In the live action movie ‘Attack of the Clones’ Bariss appears as a older Padawan on the verge of becoming a knight. She is of an age with Anakin in this film meaning late teens early twenties. In AOTC we see Bariss also appear at the battle of Geonosis, where she dies. The films is very clear about who survives the battle and Bariss is not among those Jedi. This is the story of Bariss Offee in the live action movies.

[Still don’t know why she was at the battle, Windu says he will take all the “Jedi Knights” who are at the temple to go rescue Obi-Wan and Anakin. As far as we know she’s still a padawan at the time. That said she may have been made a Jedi Knight shortly before the battle. Not sure???]

2-Micro Series History:

In the micro series Bariss is resurrected and appears, like Anakin, to be a Padawan who’s fighting in the war on her way to becoming a Jedi Knight. She is still of an age with Anakin, late Teens early twenties.

3-The Clone Wars History:

In the Clone Wars TV show Bariss is de-aged down to be in her early teens like Ahsoka. We don’t know anything about her past but it seems unlikely that she would have been at the battle of Geonosis. Bariss then goes evil for... some reason???

Conclusion:

All the parts start coming together, as Baxter Stockman sends mousers to get Splinter, April meets Casey Jones, we meet Krang and Splinter meets his nemesis again, for the first time.

At least this time they got creative with the mousers.

I feel like the only problem with the new series is the decision of starting “new arcs” only to change the title of the story for a different trade. But the story is still the same. This story is two trades long, plus three specials. I appreciate honesty when it comes to naming stories. Don’t tell me the story is over in four issues when it’s not. I understand the approach was to tell a longer serialized story, but then you have two options, name the chapters individually, or keep the numbering of the chapters. As a result, you need to buy two trades to get the full story (so I recommend the ultimate editions).

The re-imagining of the Turtles continues and there is even more in the mix in these issues, from all previous iterations. The Fred-Wolf cartoon seems to be one of the biggest influences, but when it comes to Shredder and the foot, I can see some 4Kids influences as well. At the time these issues were written, there was no 2012 show (but I can imagine Eastman was somewhat involved into the conception of that show). Then again, that show took a lot from Fred-Wolf and Playmates.

I am really liking the micro-series. The Donatello issue was beautifully drawn, and I am getting used to Dan Duncan’s style by now (just as he is leaving the book).

Many things make more sense in this version, but I am not entirely convinced about the rivalry between Hamato Yoshi and Oroku Saki. I don’t know, it feels a little weak, and since the idea was to re-imagine it... well, I was expecting something a bit easier to believe.

In the Mirage (and almost all iterations), the two brothers that bicker the most are Leo and Raph. Well, that changed here as Leo and Donnie clash over blind faith and rationality. An interest spin, as these two characters usually don’t have reasons to fight. It is justified here, of course.
