Minnie was not interested in Mickey at first. She was a bit superficial and fascinated by the things her many suitors had to offer. She ignored him, despite his unrelenting advances. Many nearly won her over with all their wonderful possessions, but she realized that they thought of her as a prize. Mickey was kind to her. While he was just a poor boy at the time, she decided it did not matter to her. He saved her from Pete whenever he captured her and Minnie followed him on his many adventures. Mickey showed Minnie a whole new world, one of wonder and beauty. However, not everything was perfect between them. When Mickey lied or deceived her, Minnie would become enraged. One thing she could not tolerate was dishonesty. Once, his deceit caused her to leave him for Mortimer Mouse. She eventually returned to Mickey, but only on the promise that he would never do it again. They were married in a small ceremony with only their closest friends. Mickey always tried to make grand gestures to prove his love for Minnie, but she didn’t need them. Not anymore. Their love was enough. Mickey did not stop though. He became one of the most powerful men in the kingdom and one of the strongest sorcerers so he could be worthy of her. They moved into a castle soon after and their lives changed dramatically. Suddenly, her husband was one of the most powerful men in Fantasyland.  Â
→ PresentÂ
Minnie was always maternal, which was why the news that she was barren crushed her. Mickey tried to find a solution but came up empty. The two continued to live in the large castle alone, a constant reminder of Minnie’s loss. She started spending less time inside it and more time away with Daisy. The situation put a strain on her marriage, but neither of them knew how to fix it. Minnie started noticing that Mickey was gone almost as often as she was. He would not tell her where he went. She confronted him and was shocked when he yelled at her for it. Suspicious, Minnie followed him and watched her husband kill a man with his magic. She left him the next day and ran into the forest, accidentally stumbling on the rebellion. They welcomed her and she learned a lot from them. Minnie could now defend herself, no longer a damsel in distress. Weeks later, she chose to return to Mickey to help the cause. Minnie expected questions, but Mickey just seemed relieved to have her back. She still sneaks out to meet the rebels and practice her fighting techniques. As Minnie’s family was descended from shapeshifters, she can still talk to the creatures and uses them to spy on her husband when he leaves the castle. Â
