What if...
So what if Zeus received the prophecy about Metis' son only during her second pregnancy? When he was still young and stupid, not absorbed in his position but instead delighted with his wife and daughter? And what if he didn't blame his change in behavior for the disintegration of Olympus' first true family? The blame would be on the littke boy who would be called his own son.
WELL! Metis' case is very interesting and I think I like what I did recently so I want to continue it. A few aspects here:
First of all Athena, I would not take away her aspect of war strategy but think it would be given to the 3rd plan in this universe, but handicraft would go hand in hand with her wisdom. Athena was born in armor because Metis knew that if anything happened on Olympus no one would defend her. But in this world? She was the first child of Zeus, conscious and wanted so she did not have to worry about it, at least not at the beginning. I also gave her some sea motifs, from her mother, and instead of full armor, aeigs from her father.
Metis became queen. Unfortunately to him, she broke up with Zeus when sealized that the position was more important than a son of his blood, so they have an arrangement - she has the crown and her husband still has a lot of women. That's enough for Metis because thanks to it she has her children close and safe.
In this comic Metis had just given birth, Zeus had forbidden anyone to enter her labor room. Her "sisters" (Hera, Demeter and Hestia) were at her daughter's birth. When her husband wanted to be alone with his wife she knew she had to fight for this boy, as soon as she gave birth, fed him and put him in the crib, knowing that the king was standing and watching her every move. She hated not knowing something but this time she knew perfectly well that she could only count on a miracle because she didn't know what her son's father would do.
And "the boy from the prophecy". Wiki says that Metis had a son named Porus, but he is supposed to be the father... of Eros? In general, it sounds like it was pulled out of thin air and doesn't suit so let's absolutely leave this idea. What I came up with, on the other hand, is a god named Caerus (Kairos)... someone who fits us perfectly! He was considered younges son of Zeus with an unspecified mother and is considered the god of opportunity! We know so little about him that I can add own story to this, okay? Wiki believes he was supposed to be the one to overthrow his father but that has no source, either way this is the closest possible son of Metis we can find.
He is very mysterious even in my comic but got eagle wings from his father & freckles and colorful lock of hair from his mother. His sacred animal is a lion. I chose yellow for his color, not only is it associated with the blood of the gods that he will spill in the future but it also symbolizes betrayal. What will Athena feel if her beloved brother stands on the other side.
I'm glad you like what I did because at this point I'm probably doing everything not to finish my fic lol.
More Zeus and Metis

So at the beginning you have Metis saving Zeus with her not-so-genius boy and then a few sketches. Do you want to add more pain to this story? Zeus met her when they were very young while he was growing up in Crete. In fact, they spent most of their lives together and if it weren't for Metis' influence, Zeus wouldn't have become who he is. We're talking about this boy, really in love and just happy, who had a family he dream of AND about this arrogant and selfish king who wanted to cheat fate by sacrificing everything he had. Oh and a bit of "What If" au, Zeus preferred the second daughter, but we don't always get what we want.

Simp for Metis at this stage
I think a bit too much about Hesiod's Theogony.
According to this, Zeus had 7 wives: Metis, Themis, Eurynome, Demeter, Mnemosyne, Leto and Hera
Metis is the only wife Zeus was forced to get rid of because she was supposed to give birth to a son who would defeat him. Plus "Zeus placed her down into his belly, so the goddess might advise him on good and evil." kind of changes it a bit, like she was some kind of voice in his head? Interesting.
Themis was basically… a good replacement for Metis. She advised him in the same way and was justice. Then we have Eurynome, who is like Metis but in appearance, a beautiful nymph.
Demeter, who opposed him but was powerful. Recognizing her as a wife is interesting, but it kind of shows us the great sense from Hestia taking a vow of virginity was. Then Mnemosyne was the personification of memories… do I need to add anything when he still couldn't get his first wife out of his head?
The case of Leto and Hera is very interesting because we all know that one was supposed to pursue the other. Hera was jealous of her husband, so it means that Leto got pregnant after the divorce or was replaced when her pregnancy was not yet known.
And now I see one thing (unless I missed something) but if we assume that Leto was actually divorced, maybe because she couldn't / not wanted to get pregnant, which turned out to be only when Hera was already ruling… it turns out that Hera is the only one who gave Zeus a son from a legitimate bed. Each of the other ladies here gave birth to only daughters, and Apollo was born out of wedlock because Hera was jealous of her husband then. Does this mean that Zeus wanted a son and he was only bargaining chip to continue the marriage?
This is already an obsession, but everything revolves around Metis for me. Zeus tried to replace her mind, her looks, her strength and finally that she would give him a son but this time a safe one. Right after that Athena is born so Zeus no longer has a part of Metis to follow in love life, he has it in his daughter.
Stray Gods II - the lost brother
You know what? I have a really good idea for Stray Gods II that could have a plot twist like you know... WOOOW. So let's start with the fact that we have two important things. First is "The Gap" which is a period of time that gods don't remember and don't know what caused it so they don't know what happened to the majority of the rest of Olympus. The second is what Athena says, that most of the current myths have little to do with truth, she makes fun of the fact that the gods don't live on the mountain and generally you can conclude that their skills were a bit overrated. And that leads me to my idea… what if Athena is so amused by "new myths and legends" because the fact that she popped out of her father's head is complete nonsense? What if Metis really did bear Zeus two children and their son really did throw him off the throne, that's why "The Gap" came about in the first place, the end of Zeus' reign which may have ended so drastically that the gods barely survived it? What if Apollo inadvertently predicted that his half-brother would overthrow their father and that ended with "Metis leaving the way by the hands of Zeus" (which could be uncertain for the player until the end of the game) and that's why he's so subservient to Athena? I assume that's because he stands up to her at the end of the game and she says in shock "This coming from you?". Maybe that's why, even though he doesn't do it anymore, he made the prophecy about the last Muse to Athena? He just feel guilty? Now that Athena has had her little act of villainy and decided to disappear, imagine what could have happened next? Maybe she knows where her brother is (or maybe the rest of the Idols thought he was dead) and went after him because he's the most powerful of them all, still? Maybe she doesn't know and wants to find him? Does the boy know? Or maybe Grace will accidentally find him first? Maybe other gods we don't know about much but who still live like Heph and Dio appear, maybe they have contact with their half-brother? Maybe Hera will appear through him too? Does he support Athena's side? AHHHH this idea seems so good, I would love to play a game like this!
