Shamelessly promoting my fic but I don't care I've been gifted art skills for two reasons and one of them is personal gain lmao

My design for Mnemosyne, daughter of Gaia and Ouranos. Due to her connection to the river of Memory, I decided to depict her with water from that river and adorned with river pearls, which represent individual memories.

In the lore I imagine for her, she can see every memory that has been turned into a pearl through the water of the river (you will see this in detail in my fic Cuckoo's Nest), and in the river itself, the memories of the dead are collected. The memories Mnemosyne wears on her jewelry are ones that touched her heart upon seeing them.

Of the female Titanes they say that Mnemosyne discoveried the uses of the power of reason, and that she gave a designation to every object about us by means of the names which we use to express whatever we would and to hold conversation one with another. And to this goddess is also attributed the power to call things to memory and to rememberance which men possess, and it is this power which gave her the name she received.

Mnemosyne

Traditionally, prayers and offerings were made to Mnemosyne so that supplicants would remember any oracular visions they had. This was often done as part of the rituals of specific oracles such as the oracle of Trophonius at Lebadeia. These prayers could also be offered before incubating dream visions, as well. This occurred in some temples to Asclepius, god of healing.

Even though I use Vedic and not Tropical, as I find sidereal placements to be more accurate in my experience, both with my own chart and others, I recently got curious about asteroids ☄️

Vedic doesn’t use them, just like it doesn’t use planets beyond Saturn, but I realised that checking asteroid placements with Sidereal (whole sign) while using the classic Tropical interpretation of them is actually quite accurate.

There are different kinds of asteroids, related to love, sex, money, career, health, body, fame, mind, luck, etc., and I only looked at those I could verify through my own chart, people I know, or well-documented public figures. I was quite surprised to see how well they held up !

For my own chart, most asteroids changed signs in Sidereal but kept the same house, though for some people it’s the opposite.

Even slight changes in sign or house make a meaningful difference in interpretation, and that difference often points toward the more accurate reading.

❀ Let’s look at one of my asteroid placements. I have my Mnemosyne in Gemini in Sidereal whereas it is in Cancer in Tropical, though they are both in the same house. This asteroid is about memory, creativity and harmony. In Gemini it is about verb, words and intellect and about the ability to weave logical and complex links between disparate fragments and informations. Whereas in Cancer, it is about guarding a deep emotional sanctuary, tied to childhood and family roots which permeate every reactions to the present. My mind and memory functions with logical and complex associations and pattern connections between pieces or different fields of informations which I think people can see even in my blog. Whereas I do not have a strong emotional tie to my family roots, I acknowledge it but it doesn’t strongly influence me as I’m more about creating my own tradition and keep only what serves me. So the Gemini placement, and therefore the Sidereal chart, is more accurate for me.

❀ In a less personal example, actress Shannen Doherty has asteroid Juno conjunct her Midheaven. In both Tropical and Sidereal it falls in Gemini, which makes her communicative, curious, drawn to stimulating partners, but the house shifts from the 9th House in Tropical to the 10th House in Sidereal.

Juno is named after the Roman goddess, queen of the gods and protector of marriage. As Jupiter’s wife, she endured his repeated infidelities and is often depicted pursuing his lovers and illegitimate children. In the 10th house, Juno pushes the native to seek a partner connected to their career or public life, especially going for a partner who is ambitious and visible. Whereas in 9th house, it is more about seeking intellectual explorations, learning, travels in the relations. Shannen often went for men she met through her career and in this example she went for Rick Salomon, an ambitious American film producer whom she married. So the Juno in 10th house in Sidereal is more accurate in her case.

Shannen Doherty left her husband Rick Salomon after he released a sex tape with heiress Paris Hilton, twelve years her junior. The humiliation played out entirely in a career-adjacent environment, again 10th house territory. She later crossed paths with Paris Hilton at a party, she assaulted her physically and wrote insults on her car. That Juno-like rage, the wronged wife enacting revenge on the other woman, manifesting in a public, career-related context rather than through intellectual or philosophical channels as a 9th house Juno would suggest.

❀ On the other hand, Rick Salomon himself has a Sagittarius Ascendant in Tropical ruled by Jupiter, and a dominant Jupiter in both systems, recreating the Jupiter/Juno dynamic with Shannen almost literally. His Juno is in Sagittarius in both systems: adventurous, free-spirited and non-committal in love. In Tropical it sits in the 1st house, which would suggest personal devotion and loyalty, qualities he clearly didn’t embody. In Sidereal, it moves to the 2nd house, shifting the focus toward material values and financial security, which better explains his trajectory toward the heiress Paris Hilton, especially since this infidelity was also part of his ambition, as this sex tape made him internationally famous and successful in his later films as a producer which is a reflection of his Jupiter like ambition and his Juno placement in Sagittarius 2nd House in Sidereal.

Paris Hilton, for her part, described the release of the famous sex tape filmed by Rick Salomon as a rape: it came out without her consent, and she experienced it very badly just like most Zeus/Jupiter’s lover experienced their relationship with him. Indeed Jupiter was known to often rape or trick his lover and this sex tape is a symbolic rape by a Jupiter dominant man.

I never looked before at asteroids as I found their interpretation with Tropical placements quite off, now I realise that the interpretation of how they work weren’t wrong but that I had to look at them differently, through the Sidereal lens. Either way, I find it fascinating to see how these small bodies can add another layer of precision to a chart and how the sidereal lens often sharpens what tropical leaves slightly blurred or even quite off. I’ll definitely keep an eye on them !

referenced asteroids: mnemosyne (57), nyx (3908), hekate (100). these asteroids aren't gonna be connected to everyone's twelfth house.

☆ dream scenarios draw from the unconscious and often resemble our emotional baseline. we can use astrology to 'map' the subconscious, showing what we tend to dream about, how our dreams present, as well as which dynamics come up frequently. we can work our way down a spiral with the 12H, its rulership, planets and asteroids in the 12H, aspects to 12H planets, or persona charts for 12H planets. this post talks about images and doesn't touch on psychological or unconscious patterns leading to dream experiences.

☆ jupiter tells you where you feel a sense of connectedness to a pattern larger than you, so in the 12H connectedness can be experienced in the liminality of dreams. typical prompts can be you having new ideas, big realizations, taking on different forms/bodies, encountering entities like angels, or feeling fortunate about the information you receive in dreams. jupiterian symbols include eagles, religious symbolism, proportionally bigger objects, etc.

☆ jupiter-pluto can still be about religious symbolism, gods, angels etc. however in combination with pluto these images often become thematically darker, revealing sth about the dreamer, or the appearance of 'darker' beings in dreams. again mythological ones like centaurs, gods and goddesses associated with the underworld, shadows, dark animals, sex, fruit like apples or pomegranates or in some way a more grandiose/intensified portrayal of those symbols. pluto makes dreams very intense and psychologically complex, esp with trauma dreams. mythologically, dreams can resemble persephone's abduction to the underworld and her initiation/maturation process. esp with jupiter square pluto compulsions or obsessions can be a big theme, violence, power, being overpowered, overpowering, or threatened, that somehow reveal deep unconscious fears or desires.

☆ asteroid mnemosyne (57), goddess of memory and remembrance, can indicate dream recalling — specifically the recollection of accurate information. as mother of the nine muses and her association with zeus, she is connected to a larger intelligent pattern. aspects in favour of recalling dreams can include soft neptune-mnemosyne or soft saturn-mnemosyne contacts, as well as moon-neptune contacts with an emphasis on the feeling dimension, where you're likely to remember emotions.

☆ hekate (100) in 12H can indicate a very deep and vivid unconscious esp since she has been connected to dream interpretation. as goddess of crossroads and the dead, she can also be about spirit communication via dreams, or symbols indicating her presence in your dreams. some include polecats, black dogs, lions, or snakes. in orphic myth she is sometimes depicted as night's or nyx's (3908) daughter, who is said to have come from darkness and chaos — essentially night being the essence of the universe. both are protectresses. i can picture either as showing you the workings of your subconscious very clearly.

☆ venus in 12H can be about playing out different dynamics and roles, premonitions like contact with someone in your waking life after dreaming about them, touch that feels real, temperature, pressure, taste, breath etc.

While they obviously don't have many myths like the major Olympian gods, here's a few I think about not unoften:

Psamathe - A tragic Nereid who shares a more than few parallels with her well known sister Thetis.

Astraea - Most of her lore comes from Rome I think... but it's still pretty cool lore.

Zephyrus - Actually fairly well known, but he's only known as the villain in the Hyacinthus myth when there's way more to him than that.

Nerites - Prettyboy lover of Aphrodite OR Poseidon, I like to merge the 2 myths and consider him the lover of both though. Not that obscure anymore but I particularly like the myth where he & Poseidon have Anteros together.

Mnemosyne - Most underrated immortal lover of Zeus. Doesn't feature in many myths but her daughters are the muses who are all cool, and the story of how her daughters were conceived is a bit funny.

Delphin - Dolphin god. Poseidon's wingman who convinced Amphitrite to marry him.

Thalassa - Primordial Sea Goddess. I consider her Aphrodite's mother... and Delphin's... she's called the mother of fishes idk...

Perses & Asteria - Hekate's parents. I can't think of anything relevant Perses did except father Hekate but the way Hesiod describes his love for Asteria is described is so sweet. Asteria's story of being forced to give up her body to avoid being assaulted by Zeus & Poseidon is tragic, but her resilience is admirable.
