Metaliator (Poland)
A female-fronted, Polish language thrash band? Yes. Definitely. Metaliator (as well as having the most glorious band name I think I've ever heard) are about as far away from the mainstream of Polish metal as a band could be. Their clean, powerful vocals, sung proudly in their mother-tongue, put to shame the sloganeering growls of the likes of Behemoth and the other Polish death metal that's smeared all over Metal Hammer. There's something amazingly honest and pure about Metaliator's brand of savage old-school thrash; It's clearly styled circa 1986 but without any of the retro, semi-ironic, lowest-common-denominator wank of the UK/US 'thrash revival' museum pieces in their fancy dress and hi-tops. This is thrash as it should be, without any hint of a knowing pose, and for all their denim cut-offs Metaliator are still a relevant band in 2012. If the bay-area sound really does need to be dragged from it's crypt and paraded around for the Death Magnetic generation to gawk at, this is how it should be done. https://www.reverbnation.com/metaliator
