her dad. for leaving a wife that he'd given so much to and let her sacrifice so much for, for leaving three children that admired him beyond comprehension, for never making an effort to meet his grandkids, for never making the time to really know his chilren as adults, for never apologizing. she's tried to forgive him, tried to come to terms with everything, but she just can't do it.

in a way, her parents did. even though their relationship turned out to be not as solid as she thought, there was always love between them that became the foundation for maggie even believing in love. that hurt when the truth came out. but then she got a chance to learn what love was again, when she had her kids. they let her rediscover what love is, and with her little family, she's found hope in it all over again.
