Voltron fanfic prompt- Team Voltron baby sitting/taking care of a baby! Bonus if it calls Shiro 'da' or 'dad'.
Istarted answering this earlier but all my progress was deleted when I left themobile app so Iâm starting it anewâŚ!! I also finished all of my assignmentsfirst because, um, priorities and I would like to pass my very expensiveuniversity courses. That I paid for. With my hard earned cash. (Why canâthigher level education be covered by the government or something damn it.)Anyway, I am really sorry this is so late but I hope you can still enjoy!

Thesound of a wailing infant could be heard in every room of the Castle of Lions.Shiro, with all his experience and leadership, could not calm his infantizedteammate.
âWhatis it you need, Hunk? Milk? A lullaby? A change in diapers?â Shiro desperately pleaded.
BabyHunk, wrapped in warm yellow blankets, only continued to wail louder. Hisscreams sounding more horrific by the second.
Adoor slid open and Keith walked through, deep grey folds circled under hiseyes.
âIcanât take this anymore. How much longer do we have until he turns back tonormal!?â He yelled at Coran.
âJusttwo more days. We only need to hold out two more days.â He yelled back.
Keithâseyes took on a mad gleam as he stared at the baby.
Thedoors slid open again and Lance walked in nonchalantly, having successfullycompleted his mission. He pulled in a large vat of milk on a utility cart.
âHey.âHe tiredly greeted everyone and dropped the cart handle. Lance took over babyholding duty from Shiro, who was more than willing to oblige.
âThere, there.â He cooed as he rocked the infant. âItâs okay.â He covered the babyâseyes as he continued to rock him. Hunk quieted and when Lance uncovered hiseyes, he was fast asleep.
âThelights were probably too bright so he couldnât fall asleep, but it should befine now. Heâll be asleep for at least an hour as long as we stay quiet.â
âIsee.â Shiro said as the others gazed at Lance with awe, through eyes weigheddown with sleep deprivation.
âIbrought back some Eboif milk that should last us the next 48 hours, as long asit stays cold. Coran?â
âIâllclear out the fridge shelves and put it there.â He said, chipper as ever.Alteans didnât experience the downsides of sleep deprivation as quickly ashumans did, but it would likely hit within the next 48 hours.
âThanks.Just so Iâm clear, no one is to feed Hunk anything other than Eboif milk forthe next 48 hours. He has a delicate digestive track at the moment and anywrong move may very well kill him. And before I forget, do not under anycircumstances, shake him, and if anyone so much as coughs, you will bequarantined until further notice. Babies are very delicate creatures, understood?â
Everyonehummed noises of agreement.
âPardonme, Lance, but how do you know so much about the caring of newborns?â Allurainquired.
âOh,is someone falling for my smooth child-raising skills?â Lance quirked hiseyebrows.
âYep,thatâs the Lance we know.â
âIused to have four younger siblings. The youngest being eight years younger thanme. Everyone older than me was often busy so I ended up spending a lot of timetaking care of those kids.â He smiled fondly. âThose tyrants were the mostterrifying creatures Iâd ever met.â
âWhatdo you mean by âused to haveâ?â Pidge asked.
Lancevisibly grew stiff. His smile became strained. âAh, one of them was just threemonths old when an uncle visited. He had a small cold that none of us thoughtmuch of, but little Elon caught his cold, and well, she wasnât strong enough tolive through it.â He paused to think for a moment before continuing. âItâs asurprisingly common story and it was such a long time ago, so I donât remembermuch of it. Whoâs hungry? I donât think any of our stomachsâ will like eatingonly goo instead of Hunkâs cooking for 48 hours but we should survive longenough to devour some of the big manâs delectable dishes. Iâll be in thekitchen if anyone wants to join me for a late dinner!â
Lancewalked out with the infant. As soon as the door closed, everyone in the roomlooked at Keith.
âWhat?Oh no no no. Comforting is not my thing- and you all know that. If anything,Iâll just make it worse. You all know that- and- fine Iâll go after him.â Hefollowed after Lance, still grumbling under his breath.
Everyonemumbled noises of agreement and wandered off. Coran stayed behind to man theship and watch for possible attacks and distress signals while Allura left fora long-needed rest.
Soon,Coran was left alone with the quiet hum of the ship, a welcome environmentafter the chaos of caring for a human baby for a quintent.
Lancesomehow managed to balance a sleeping Hunk in one arm while the other waspumping green food goo onto a plate. The kitchen doors slid open and familiarthump of boots sounded until they reached a nearby chair. Lance didnât have tolook up to know who it was. Heâd recognize those footsteps anywhere.
âHey.âKeith greeted him awkwardly.
âHey.âLance replied offhandedly, having finished pumping enough food goo for a meal.He pressed a button on the pump and it retracted back to its dispenser.
âDoyou want to talk? You might feel better afterwards.â Keith said bluntly, as healways did.
âNottoday, buddy.â Lance chuckled. âBut thanks for the offer.â
Neitherof them were energetic enough to keep pressing the subject.
Keithwatched silently as Lance dug into his food somehow hungrily, with practicedmoves that suggested he was used to eating in this position.
Afterpolishing off half his plate, Lance glanced over at Keith, with his eyes closedand face smushed into his hand. Somehow his arm was still supporting him, butit wouldnât be long before Keithâs head slid off his hand and smashed into thetable. Lance smiled at the rare vulnerability Keith was showing. This wouldnever have happened when they first entered space, and yet here they are. Closeas family. Also exhausted as hell, but in a much different way from fighting awar. It was a much welcomed interlude for team Voltron, at least from Lance. Itwas also times like these that Lance thought about his family on Earth themost, but he didnât miss them as strongly as he used to. Not with his otherfamily around 24/7.
In48 hours, theyâll be fighting a war bigger than any of them again, but for now,he planned on enjoying the peace.

Um, I think you wanted something cute but this ran away from me. I think if one of the paladins turned into a baby, the paladins would be absolutely swamped and none of them would really know how to react except for Lance, having been cannonly confirmed to have a big family. In my opinion, itâd delve into him thinking about his family back on Earth and his space family and ultimately coming to some sort of peace with himself. Also character development for Keith because I definitely see him being there for Lance like Lance was for him. Whelp here you are. Completed at long last!
