Best Mega Evolution Tournament- Round 1: Match 15
Mega Feraligatr vs Mega Glimmora
Mega Feraligatr
Mega Glimmora
Two new blue Megas from Legends Z-A!
When Totodile was announced as one of the starters for Legends Z-A, it seemed inevitable that Mega Feraligatr was on its way! And it's definitely a memorable one, with its dorsal fin growing into a massive hood that resembles the head of a Totodile. The hood works for both offense and defense, since it's tough enough to withstand incoming attacks, and Mega Feraligatr can use it- combined with the spikes on its arms- to form a massive jaw, one with 10 times the bite strength of its real one! And that bite strength contributes to Mega Feraligatr's massive 160 Attack stat, tied with Hero Form Palafin for the strongest Attack of a Water type Pokémon. In fact, over half of its 100 bonus stat points from mega evolution go directly into its Attack. This beast is made for fighting! And as a new form of a beloved starter Pokémon, it's bound to have some extra love and goodwill that may be necessary in this tough competition.
As a Pokémon introduced in Generation 9, Glimmora didn't have to wait too long for an even more powerful new form! Mega Glimmora is indeed powerful as well, with the highest Special Attack of any non-Legendary or Mythical Rock type Pokémon at 150! Boosted by its Adaptability ability- potentially a reference to how Terastalisation boosts STAB if Terastalising into one of your original types- Mega Glimmora has some of the most threatening Poison and Rock type attacks around. Filled with mega evolution energy, Glimmora's outer petal break away and encircle the Pokémon, providing more protection and allowing it to spread its poisonous debris over a larger area, so stay well back! Maybe don't give it a hug, but perhaps you'll be giving it your vote?
