Something just happened to me

There is so much hate on indie animation on Twitter lately. Where did it come from? Sheesh...

I've been a Pokemon fan for about 15 years and it's always been one of my biggest passions. But lately something feels different somehow. This old and lifelong passion I felt has suddenly started feeling so brand new and fresh all over again. I still haven't figured out why. But it feels incredible.

I love seeing fanart that heavily associates Taunie/Urbain with Manectric as their signature Pokemon. Something about it just makes me smile and clap in satisfaction and approval like yes please keep it up :3

The best description I can think of for why current day Twitter sucks so bad is that it just feels like I'm back in school again. Bullying, judgement, moral grandstanding, gossip, public humiliation, insufferable snark, preoccupation with conformity, popularity obsession, groupthink etc. Having been born in 2000 and having been a social outcast most of my life, social media to me was a place people could be themselves, connect, and build communities where we are safe from IRL cruelty and scrutiny. So it's really disheartening to see Twitter in particular become exactly the kinda place people like me needed to get away from. To see the majority of users engage in the same dishonest and manipulative self-serving behaviors that made places like school such a nightmare.
