So I saw someone asking why is Hermione is not an ENTJ and I always meant to ask, why isn't she ISTJ? You said she's good at intuition, so am I right in assuming that's not the case for ISTJs since their Ne is inferior? If you know any ISTJs in real life, are they more skeptical compared to ESTJs? I just want to understand the difference between having intuition third vs last.
Yup. That's the reason.
In the books, she shows a lot of Te, Ne, and 6. Too much Te for it to be secondary (remember when she delights in being a Prefect and starts demanding the Weasley twins abide by the rules? Hermione likes structure and is an instant judger of chaos; a Te-dom). Too much Ne for it to be inferior (she's quite intuitive at putting things together once she has evidence).
ISTJs are THE most logical of all the types. Most of them are very practical and no-nonsense people, with not much tolerance for ideas that have no application and no proven track record behind them. In their mind, Ne is for playing -- writing books, reading stories, coming up with ideas about how a character's arc is going to go, guessing at the end of a mystery show while it's happening. It's not the way you live, that would be ridiculous.
