The front door slamming shut pulled him from his thoughts.

“I used to ride,” he told her. “Got stomped on by one too many bulls…”

“I mean, you told me he had a temper, but, damn…”

As his plane was shot down over enemy lines, Duke Mitchell’s last thoughts were of his son, his precious little Petey.

Bradley knew it was a mistake to come here.

The Daggers had made it back by Christmas—barely.
