THE EGGSHELL SWORD // COMIX REVIEW
Melbourne comix doer Marc Pearson draws from the essence of a kid chasing an ant with magnifying glass in 'The Eggshell Sword' - a short from earlier this year that was Risoβd by Walker Mettling in Rhode Island U.S.A. ahead of some Melbourne zine fair. After post-traumatic intrigue provokes Raymond Ray, a spectacled writer to abscond from his book signing, an investigation ensues to the result of a person unzipping their entire body with their tongue, which is pretty fucked. What I really enjoy is how precious Raymond is as a character; he seems like this barely outstanding guy whom Pearson is just messing with for the sake of it, torturing the artist with incomparably disturbing situations and highlighting his subsequent despair without being sadistic.
Dear mr. ray, i've been working really hard to create some work(drawings/comics) i feel happy with/proud of, but I'm having trouble putting myself forward and showing my work, i dont really know how and I'm also very scared.
