I know it was just his time and he's at peace now but I still miss my boy. You don't spend nearly 18 years with a kitty and forget them so easily. They stay with you for as long as you remember them.

And after 2 years, I still miss Sissi too.

Her death was so much worse in many ways because she got sick so suddenly. There are the odd moments when I still feel the trauma of that night. At least with Manny, I had more than enough time to say goodbye and keep him comfortable.

Despite everything, their losses still hurt the same.

Would I ask for one more day with them if given the chance? Probably not. They let me know it was their time to go and I respect that. I have no regrets.
