magic tavern has now officially reached covid. looks like they record the bookends slightly later than the episodes proper cause it got acknowledged in those while the actual episodes still sounded normal (and ah, assuming it'd all be over in a month or so), but I'm now on the first episode that they recorded remotely and wow you can really hear it, oof. not just variable mic quality (though a whole lot of that) but the whole, people having to try to make this whole remote thing work whose entire body of experience comes from doing this thing in person
it's also really making it hit home that the beginning of covid was six years ago. that's what? six????
