the statement is someone warning Gertrude about a guy who kills people through dreams, presumably because he knows about Gertrude's Archivist Statement Nightmare Thing and wants to give her a heads up so she doesn't get killed, and then Jon makes an explicit reference to his own Archivist Statement Nightmares. Again, something we as the listeners haven't been told about at this point, but is still being all set up subtly and unexplicitly

and of course as I type this out mag114 comes around with freaking Daisy asking Jon about the shirt that made her realize the dreams were a real thing explicitly to his face
