Taryn is the only one who continually endangered Judes life ( starting the chain of events where Valerian almost kills her twice, leaving her alone with Valerian in the tower, leaves her in the lake of nixies alone, send Jude to the court where she is exiled from to cover her which coulve definitely gotten her killed if caught , stole half of her army to give to Madoc giving him an advantage to start war where she couldve been overthrown and killed in battle) and gets away with it unscathed.

And Jude never ever takes her lick back. She doesn’t even acknowledge it as danger for her life. Taryn sacrifices Jude at every turn for things Jude would never have chosen over her. She throws away her relationship with her father. Making him an enemy to protect Oak and Taryn abandons her to her fate and almost causes her death to get with Locke. And steals her army to appease Madoc.

Its the misbalance between the sisters where one only takes and one only gives that i think inspires the hatred for Taryn.

He raises the twins alike his own blood, he teaches them everything he knows of combat and strategy, he makes sure they study with the noble children, Oriana forbids the girls of telling Madoc if they are mistreated bc she knows he will be furious about them being hurt, he genuinely wants to paint the walls with the blood of the folk who made Jude eat fairy fruity, when Taryn desires to marry the jerk of Locke he lets it clear that he knows it’s gonna go wrong, but allows her to do whatever she feels she will be happy and says she can always come back home when that thing blows up, even Jude mentions in The Wicked King how Madoc would call an army surgeon to take care of her shot leg.

And not even mentioning the fact Madoc pampered Taryn a lot in his war camp and stabbed Jude in The Queen of Nothing and had the nerve of saying he wanted to take her to the medics bc he would never let her die. Also, he sending a letter to Cardan furious and cursing him for being the “reason for his daughter died”.

His adopted son, Oak with a excellent kill count. His foster daughters Jude (he wish he was there for her first kill for the bonding experience) and Taryn (he's so proud of her for killing her husband, so efficiently too).
