Spent a good part of today assembling the rows of my Old Town quilt into a quilt top!
I love how fun and colourful it turned out, but I feel like it could use a narrow border of the dark navy fabric to finish off the edges. Would love to hear what all of you think about that!
And, of course, as soon as it hit the floor Meara had to have a snuggle. After all, quilts are made for puppies!

I finished piecing the quilt top for the baby blanket I'm making for a coworker. It's about 46x55 inches right now.
Finally worked up the nerve to try half-square triangles! I used fabrics from my bee quilt, including some blues that ended up not working for that particular project. I don’t know what I’m going to make from these, and I put almost no though into the individual squares themselves, but I’m still pleased with how the hst came out. My machine tension was a little high, but they’re not as stretched out as I feared my first attempt would be.
I spent the morning cutting fabric for a baby quilt. I was going to dive right into chain piecing it together but decided my wee Singer Featherweight needed some TLC. I gave her a clean and polish and some oil in all the right spots. She is purring now.

I've been working on finishing up the piecing of my Old Town quilt this weekend!
Working with these bright colours again has been so much fun!
I've been away visiting friends and family this week, so haven't had much time for sewing. But today, I finally have time to play with quilt blocks again!
After moving them around a little more, I think I've finally arrived at a block placement I'm happy with!
Now, I'm looking forward to finally assembling my Old Town quilt top!
After a little more piecing, I've finally finished the sashing strips!
And with everything pieced, I've been able to lay out all my blocks and sashing together to get an idea of the effect!
I'm not sure of the layout just yet—I'll likely be playing around with block placement for at least a few more days—but with everything pieced, I can finally get started on the new mystery quilt!
