I've been working on finishing up the piecing of my Old Town quilt this weekend!
Working with these bright colours again has been so much fun!

I’m considering making two twin sized quilts, both with a lot of curves. I’m not terribly confident sewing curves on a sewing machine, but I’m a reasonably confident hand sewer. Should I… hand piece these quilts??
This cute sloth flannel needed to be made into a cute baby quilt ❤️
I’m doing half inch seams instead of a quarter because flannel always tends to fray on me.
I designed my own quilt block!
I've been thinking about re-covering some throw pillows recently, but I haven't been able to find a design that I'd like on some feature pieces, so I made one! I'm sure a pattern exists somewhere, but damned if I could find one. I also wanted them to be 18" x 18", which most quilt blocks just aren't that large, and I don't have the head to size them up lol
So I tried a new software, Design N Quilt. It allowed me to design this block in the size I wanted, gave me a printout that included cutting instructions, fabric requirements, and even an option for paper piecing! It's very exciting, and I'm already plotting ideas for it. The software was pretty clear, but I'm also familiar with other design and art software- even so, I think it was pretty user friendly.
I did have a tiny issue with the cutting sizes it provided me with on the points, but that very well could have been user error. 😂 I've got to do some more research and try it again to see if I maybe misread or miscut something.
I'm planning to quilt it using rulers and use it as a display piece at day job.

Soooo....the skull is a lot bigger than I thought it'd be. 😅 I'm still adding the outer border, it'll just be smaller.
Love my birthday quilt! ❤️🎂

I've been away visiting friends and family this week, so haven't had much time for sewing. But today, I finally have time to play with quilt blocks again!
After moving them around a little more, I think I've finally arrived at a block placement I'm happy with!
Now, I'm looking forward to finally assembling my Old Town quilt top!
