Okay, I am... not sure here.
You shouldn't just go giving credit card and/or paypal information to places you can't trust. That's just a rule of thumb.
And I've never heard of MacHeist before... But then I'm not a mac guy and generally don't participate in "events" like it anyway. No matter how well-known it was, chances are I wouldn't have heard of it.
I've done a bit of research (as much as Google will give, at least) and it seems like it's legit. I mean, it has history. Looks like several reputable websites claim the deal's real too. But...
Well it seems... Too good to be true? Almost two thousand dollars worth of software for 20 bucks, and a large portion of it goes towards one of a number of charities?
About half my friends have told me to go for it, and half have said it's too big of a risk. And in times of misdirection, the obvious answer is to turn to random strangers on the Internet for help!
So guys. This MacHeist thing. How legit is it. How risky is it using my freaking paypal for this. What do???
