It’s an odd thing to have ALL and yes I do mean all the older people in the manga be portrayed under these umbrellas. Especially because these tropes are played for laughs.

When Macao and Wakaba tease Mira about her magazine spreads and yet still continue to look at them lustfully it is treated as a joke instead of the act of predatory perversion that it is.

When Makarov slaps Lucy (and other girls) on the butt as punishment they just say “oh master,” jokingly instead of realizing that the punishment is an abuse of his power over them, both as a paternal figure and boss.

When Porlyusica rightfully complains about Fairy Tail constantly getting injured and bothering/disrespecting her EVEN THOUGH she is secluded in the woods for a reason it is played off as if she is just nagging for the sake of it when really she is tired of being called a hag by people that keep bothering her for her help.

When Master Ooba (Lamia Scale) flashes her bikini clad body at the GMG audience everyone, guilds included, react in disgust even though they were eating up the perky young bodies across the field as if to say that Master Ooba’s body is too old and saggy to be beautiful or attractive.

It’s one thing to have this be a one time joke, someone calls it out and then boom it never happens again but these are consistent running gags. Makarov, Wakaba, and Macao are always lusting over the younger girls in fairy tail. In fact Gildarts lists off multiple names when trying to remember Cana’s mother. (I’m not shaming him but it is an odd choice considering the other characters in the guild.)

This means that older men can’t be trusted to control themselves, they will always lust over women, half their age or otherwise.

Porlyusica is always portrayed as a nag (barring when she interacts with Wendy but by that point her role is set.) master Ooba is always having to be controlled and people are disgusted by her body. Even Anna Heartfilia looks EXACTLY like Lucy’s and has a similar disposition to her, so much so that they were confused for each other.

The current state of the guild can be described as:
