Currently there are people in tumblr communities claiming they're offering to give away (for free) their "old" Mac book (from 2020/ 2022) as they just bought a new one.

This offer is not real though. It's a scam.

Indicators:

• If this offer was legit, why would amelia4649 use photos of 2 different Mac books to advertise the one she claims to have? The surroundings are different either, see pictures below.

• All the accounts offering it are fairly new, for example @amelia4649 's oldest post was on November 20, 2025 at 2:11 pm CET

• Although they're 3 - 5 years old, these Mac books are still valuable and not sold for cheap. No one would actually give them away for free to strangers imo. Cause according to Swappa the price for a Mac book from 2020 starts at US $228, with an average price of US $390.

• If they really want to give something for free why are the members of a community they just joined any special to them? Why don't they *at least* make a regular post about it that can appear on everyone's dash/ in searches?

With these screenshots, I have only evidence of @amelia4649 doing this but I know @mareiahdunmp has also posted it and like them probably several other accounts too.
