LVSH debuted in May of 2015 under JYP Entertainment after receiving a lot of love on their survival show Unit10, where 10 girls battle it out in singing, dancing and rapping in either solos or group acts each week for 10 months. However, the public knew nothing about any of the trainees as they were each given a number which Korea then used to vote each week until the top 5 girls because the group LVSH. A lot of mystery surrounded them as each teaser dropped for each girl (similar to LOONA’s next girl concept).
Their expectations were reached when EP Candid was dropped. Each song was arguably title worthy and each had a new flavour. The title track Really Really (winner) encompassed a tropical beat which had Korea singing for days. This, in turn, earned them their first 3 wins.
Their concepts range in order to show diversity but keep a common theme running through them, often makin point of the choreography as a heavily performance based group. Each song’s unique style can be seen mostly in bridges where the group either harmonise, break it down, play an instrument all depending on the song style.
However some people don’t favour them as much and blame their success on ‘big 3 privilege’. Other rumours accusing them of having plastic surgery or being robots (???) got to a point where JYP themselves had to release official statements to dismiss them but other than that and a few dating scandals, LVSH have refrained from harsh criticism from knetz
